Just got back from WDW !!!!!!!!

Hello all !!!

We just got back from our honeymoon at WDW. We spent five days and it rained for some part of every day:madmad

I went on my first roller coaster ride (rockin roller coaster @ Disney Studios), what a rush:dazed I didn't know what I was missing.

Stayed at the Contemporary Resort. Nice sized rooms, great location 7th floor nearest The Magic Kingdom. Rooms could get a bit noisy, but all in all not bad. No worse than any other hotel.

To be honest, we did not spend much time at the parks this trip, but did decide to bring down the two kids next summer for a week. Can anyone tell me what month out of June, July & August has the least rain?????????

The parks were not too crowded, we were surprised. Have heard that attendance is down this summer from various people there.

Sorry I don't have any juicy info, back to work I go.............

If you can do it try either May or the first week in June. The weather is still nice and it doesn't rain very much those two months. But I suggest that if you can take them out of school in in either late september or early october or wait unitl after thankgiving and just before xmas, this way you can see the xmas lights and it won't be very crowded. Just don't go to the MK on Saturaday except for the parade and fireworks. The garden rooms at the contemporary are a lot quiter or try the rooms at Port Orleans (alligator Bayou is wounderful and the kids will love the pool. Plus it a lot cheaper at that time.

And its your honeymoon, I wonder why???

Happy honeymooning:love:

I've been WDW spring, summer, and fall. My favorite time is late May and early June. Its warm to hot, with little to no rain.:)

Congratulations on your marriage and on honeymooning at Disney! I'm sure it was so wonderful!

June is the "official start" of the rainy season here. The day usually goes like this - beautiful all morning until around 2 p.m. then an afternoon shower or two and all clear for the evening. It pretty much stays this way all summer. Because of that, you may consider that June is usually in the low 90's versus August being in the high 90's and that is more brutal than any type of shower during the day.

Please post more when you can! :)

How wonderful to start life as man and wife at WDW ..congrads. I would suggest June, like Cinderellafifi, maybe the earliest part of june .. before the crowds ... as for rain ..well it's liquid sunshine .. and it really doesnt last very long .. and like Cinderellafifi said .. all three of those months are rainy months ..but the heat can make a difference.

disneycouple30 is right that May is an excellent time ..when the girls were in the lower grades it was never a problem to take them out any time in the last 3 weeks of May because there wasnt hardly anything going on. Our granddaughters are now in the 5th and 8th grades and there is way too much going on at the end of the year including special events that we have to think June .. We have gone in June but we went around Mid-June and it was very crowded ..and very hot.

Congratulations!! What a great place to celebrate --WDW. I would like to suggest -- as ridiculous as this seems--this week in august. I'll tell you why (i just got back) the heat is the same as June, but the crowds are less and it is considered NOT peak time which means you pay less for your hotel room.
Lots of luck.

Disney1230,
from one disney honeymooner to another...Congratulations!! I cannot think of a better way to begin your 'forever' together! Did you go to the California Grill? Are there any romantic places at the Contemporary?

Hi Trishb,

Yes, we went to the California Grill, it is very good & can be very spendy! :-)

While the California Grill is usually crowded, they have a bar area in which you can sit inside and watch the nightly fireworks over the MK ( go early to get a seat!), better yet, they have two walkways that you can go onto and watch the fireworks outside. This is where I proposed to my wife in December while the fireworks we going off! Needless to say, I thought that the whole evening was "romantic" from the Califonia Grill to the lounge and watching the fireworks on the walkway.

You can also at night, simply take a walk by outside. All the trees have twinkling lights in them and a walk out to the lake (in back) can be very romantic and relaxing. Although I have not been there, I here that the Grand Floridian would be a place for some romantic evenings. Others would probably have better information regarding the GF.

How sweet! DH and I were married at the Wilderness Lodge. So our anniversaries have always been spent at Artist Point. This year, we are planning to eat at the California Grill...any suggestions on seating or food choices?

If you like Sushi or Sashimi it is very good here. I also had the filet and it was excellent. BTW the desserts are incredible (bring a good appetite!)

Isn't it neat to be able to say you spent your honeymoon surrounded by Disney magic? :) We honeymooned at Dixie Landings and loved it!
So, yall are taking the kids back next summer? We've done the same thing; the whole time promising ourselves that we'd return alone for our 10th Anniversary! :)
