I love this site.

I just wanted to say how awesome I think this site is. I just discovered it the other day and I am so happy I did. It's really nice to know that there are other people out there that think Disney is as wonderful as I do. Sometimes I get made fun of, cause people say that I'm too old to love Disney as much as I do, or that loving any place that much just isn't healthy. I feel sorry for them. There is just something about Walt Disney World that is truly magical and I feel it the minute I arrive on property. I do love that place !!

I am glad that you like it here. I have heard several negative about Disney, and several, "Are you on that Disney site, AGAIN?". It is tough, but we have a great time on here!!! I agree there is something magical about WDW.

I love WDW too. There is no place like it on earth. I also love DC; a place where you can visit and relive the magic through other peoples experiences. Viva DisneyCentral!!!

Re: I love this site.

Well, all kidding aside, some of us are a *little* too obsessed with Disney. OTOH, there are a lot of people that just don't get Disney.

I agree that this is a wonderful site. Not only is it a great source of Disney info and the "inside scoop," there are a lot of terrific people that frequent this site that are genuinely willing to offer assistance and share the magic of Disney.

Suggestion: if people accuse you of being overly obsessed with Disney, you might be. You should at least consider the possibility of tempering the obsession. However, simply appreciating Disney magic doesn't always mean obsession. And DC is a great place to share that appreciation.

Talking about be made fun of because you like Disney reminded me of this thread I started a long time ago. See what you think.

I remember this thread. My DD is 10 and still wears Pooh on her shirts etc and could care less what other people think. I am 30 and feel the same way. I got a call the other day at home from my assistant. She had a "disney question" and she said, I knew you would have the answer....kinda made me feel good. The point is, who cares what anyone thinks about your likes or dislikes. We aren't hurting anyone with loving something that brings happiness to many, many people. It could be worse. We could all be obsessed with pro-wrestling. I say that in the nicest way, but can't imagine us all sitting here discussing wrestling

Re: I love this site.

We have people throughout our company that LOVE Disney. I have 3 Disney ties and I wear them all the time. The Admin Assistant for our area is also a Disney fanatic who has a mild obsession with Donald. (She and I are also HUGE Patriots fans, so naturally, we generally have a lot to talk about.)

I have no patience for people who actively attack Disney. If you don't like it, fine. But don't give me heck because I like it.

I was just reading about 6 Flags newest roller coaster, Kingda Ka, scheduled to open next spring. It goes 128 mph, reaches a height of 465 ft and is over in 30 seconds. While that's an impressive engineering feat, can someone tell me why that's imaginative? Can someone tell me what the point is? Why would you want to ride something like that more than a few times, if at all?

Please. I'll take Disney and the theming and the magic and the food and everything else in a heartbeat over anything that any other park has to offer.

I am a major coaster junkie, but have to agree with you on that point Matt. I would much prefer the themeing of the over all park. thanks goodness WDW has one good coaster for me to get a fix...lolol I havent' been to a six flags in years. Last time I went it was over-ran by foul-mouthed teens with no clothes on...ok they had some clothes on, but left nothing to the imagination for anyone and half of them really needed to cover up

LOL.

Someone should tell some of these little girls that if they want to wear low-riders, they should stop drinking soda and eating pototo chips all the time.

Nothing bugs me more than an otherwise attractive and thin young lady with a belly that hangs out all over the place. If you're 35 and have had a couple of kids, then fine, but if you're a teenager.....

And don't get me started on the boys that have their underwear showing all the time...

What is it with me and rants today?????

Re: I love this site.

I live very near Kings Island in Cincinnati Ohio. This is the home of the Beast. It is a great coaster, but like all other coasters at KI, there is little to no theming involved in the ride. If Disney would have built this ride, you can bet the wait in line and the post show would have been more enjoyable than the ride itself. Expedition Everest will raise the bar on the next level of Roller Coasters.

As far as half clothed people in the parks, I was disgusted during our trip this year to WDW. I saw several girls wearing bathing suits in MK. Let's put it this way. My wife, who is quit fit, would never wear the types of suits these girls were wearing. These girls were about 50 pounds overweight and left nothing to the imagination. Now I ask, where was the security? Isn't there a rule against wearing swimsuits in MK?

Re: I love this site.

To start with...[balmer]I LOVE THIS SITE! I LOVE! I LOVE! I LOVE! THIS SITE![/balmer] (if you don't get the reference don't worry about it )

I use to like in Columbus and went to KI or Cedar Point every year. I have to agree that Disney is a much better experience to either (well any other) park. The last time I went to KI I was so disappointed with how dirty and blah it was.

CP has never disappointed me but my expectation are pretty set on what to expect. It is a great park IMO.

CP has a coaster called Millennium(sp?) Force. For a while it was the tallest fast blah blah blah...I have to say it is the best coaster I have every rode. I must have been on it at least a dozen times on my 3 visits since it has been there.

But it is no Disney ride...

Re: I love this site.

Isn't this the greatest? And isn't it so cool to find out there are more Disney wackos out there??? It's like animals in the wild -- they seek out and hang out with their own kind! The Disney fans find each other and speak a whole language that nobody else understands! Do you ever notice a how a regular non-fanatic acts when you tell them about how to maximize their day at Epcot by planning astute rope-drop strategy, surgically precise fast-pass use and perfectly timed priority seatings???
