What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

Hi everyone,

I only have 49 more days. Yeah!!! I am so exicited.

What kind of things to do you do to get ready? I don't want to forget something important.

Here's my list:
I have lists all over my bedroom and kitchen to write down anything and everything. i.e. skip milk delivery, turn off ice-maker, turn down heat

I have started my packing lists
I have a folder with all our tickets and confirmations
I have typed up my itinerary with confirmations
I have typed up my room request fax

I just love planning for disney!!!

Anyone else like this?

Janelle

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

Yes, planning is fun! hehe! I don't do much planning when I go though... I'm quite a procrastinator. And rather forgetful. If I remember to bring my camera, toothbrush, and enough clothes for my entire trip I consider myself in good shape. But it's so exciting to be running around the house trying to get everything together. Planning is half the fun!

I wish I could do that. Sometimes I get all worked up when I don't have my lists. LOL

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

I actually have a notebook that I put everything in. I put everything in plastic protecter sheets, ie itinerary, rental car confirmation, to do lists, etc. You can add the plastic sheets that are for business cards too. I put the Disney passes in there, as well as a typed slip of paper with the PS confirmation numbers, etc. That way I have everything in one spot. It also helps with planning for the next trip back to Disney. I wish the rest of my life was as organized as my Disney notebook!

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

I have a slash folder where I keep all my important papers for the trip. It sits right by my computer so I can add new ones as they come along.

Being the tour guide for our little group going this Dec, I send almost daily emails to my 3 friends. They include: pictures of the resorts, restaurants, menus, and news tidbits. I even have made little Dollz of the 4 of us and inserted them into pictures of where we're planning on going.

Also, I'm making photo tee shirts for us to wear and I had Guest of Honor name tags made for everyone.

Any other ideas on little things to put into gift baskets for my friends?

Call and check your PS's one last time to make sure that you have everything. There were a few blunders with mine last trip.

Keep a storage box in your bedroom. Everytime you think of something you want to take, throw it in the box. Remember to pack 2 pairs of sneakers for everyone.

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

I have a 2 week calendar I put together in word. Each day has the park that we are going to, hours of operation, PS and confirmation numbers. I also have my passporter with all the envelopes filled with important papers. I have my housekeeping envelopes all decorated and have the money already inserted so all I have to do is take one out each day. For every day I wrote a little note to housekeeping thanking them for all they. Needless to say, I'll hold back the envelopes if things don't go the way they are supposed to. My pop up hamper is in my office still collecting those things I don't want to forget. Sun visor for grandma, dramamine, suitcase belts for easy identification, etc.

Now it is just the never-ending waiting game.

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

I am not sure if you have young kids or not, but one thing that my kids really love is we make a countdown calendar and count backwords until we leave for Disney. It is similar to the ones that you can buy for Christmas. Then, each day the kids and I take off the old number, do a dance (we even made up a song to sing "We're going to Disney, We're going to Disney in X days), then put on the new number. A little silly, but the kids really loved it and it helped my youngest count backwords from 60 and understand that we were subtracting one each time.

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

For Disneyland...I grab my purse. LOL

For Disneyworld...we are leaving the day after Christmas so I think it'll be to clean up the chaos, and hope we didn't forget anything...

At least this trip has gotten me out of cooking for 15 this year! Yeah!

Re: What do you do to get ready for your WDW trip?

We have been doing the same concept but with a paper chain. Each link is numbered and decorated with disney stickers. I hung it over the door hinge of my pantry door in my kitchen. It kinda makes your heart stop when you take a look at it and it's only 7 links long when we started it drug on the floor.

I wait for my documents to come in the mail. Today we received our hotel vouchers and luggage tags. It is getting a little closer now.
