Ok, I have just been thinking...is it wrong to be so into the Jungle Cruise. I mean I love the jokes (which sets it apart from other rides), I love the animatronics, and I love my dream of one day working there as the skipper. Just wondering, am I crazy? If there are any of you who feel the way I do write about it and if there are any of you that think I am crazy...well, keep it to yourselves!!!!!

You're all nuts. JC is, perhaps, the LAMEST ride EVER!! If a Disney exec were to call me tonight and say, "Matt, we need your advice. Should we replace IASW or JC?"

Everyone generally knows how much IASW annoys me, but my answer would be, "JC!! get it the heck out. Replace it with... ummmm.. ANYTHING! How about a Disney torture chamber?"

OK, that's a little extreme and maybe even macabre, but seriously, what redeeming qualities does this ride have? The animals/characters are sun-bleached, the water is a disgusting shade of gross, the jokes are just.. well.. not funny... even if you WANT them to be. And the line is always long.

The only scripted ride in WDW that is nearly as annoying as JC is TGMR, but I don't want to open that Pandora's box either.

I'm not salivating over JC or ISWA, but I ride 'em everytime I go, because they're a reminder of what Dinsey imagineering use to be like--whimsical and inventive.

Hey hey hey! I never said ANYTHING about 2 of the best rides Disney has to offer. You CANNOT compare JC to HM or BTMRR.

Now, if they spruced up JC and played J Geils Band "River Blindness" in the background, improved the animatronics on all the creatures and found a way to randomize the boat movement so that it wasn't exactly... the... same... ride.... every.. single.. time.... THEN maybe I'd like it.

Not necessarily. It's ride throughput and a build up of perception.

Because of the boarding and unboarding process, the number of riders/hour is relatively low, significantly lower than other rides. It's actually lower than it used to be because we're generally kinder and gentler these days so they never pull out until EVERYONE is sitting. They didn't ALWAYS do that.

So the line builds up relatively quickly and then people say: "Hey, the line for that is long, it MUST be a good ride." Aren't THEY in for the shock of their lives. LMAO!

nope your not crazy .. I never knew there was a backside of water till my first jungle cruise .. and if the CM is good (we have rarely had a bad one) then I am laughing at the jokes right out loud :)

JC is LAME. That is why it's so darn awesome. It's just not Disney without a trip on the good old JC...and iasw, well, I think that could possibly be the best ride in existance. How can you not like something THAT happy?!?!!?

While I love the JC, I can think of a wonderful way of sprucing it up.

Take some of those evil dolls, and have some of the natives offering them as sacrifices to the gods. Maybe even have some of the dollheads on stakes? Ooh! Oooh! How about having the dolls swimming in certain areas? You know, having them get chomped on to drive home the point of keeping your hands in the boat; having the natives throw their spears into them; having them get drug under by some of the other animals?

Now THAT would be an awesome ride!
