Here's the deal: I friend of mine plays football for Georgia Tech. They've just been invited to the Champs Sports Bowl (aka Tangerine Bowl) in Orlando on 21 Dec. His mom has decided that as a 'thank you' gift to me, she's buying me a ticket and hotel room for the game. (Note: I attended a lot of the games, especially ones she and her husband couldn't. So I took him food, goodies from home, etc. Basically, I was the messenger/delivery girl.)
Now... since I'll be in Orlando... and I've NEVER seen Disney decorated for Christmas... I'm tempted to just get a 1-day pass and basically just walk around all day. Maybe ride 1 or 2 rides. But basically just get a Disney fix since I've cancelled my trip in April.

I mean, that's what, $50 for a pass, plus food and a souvenier or 2 (or more)? That's WAY cheaper than our trip next year was going to cost. That shouldn't hurt. And the free hotel is an added bonus.
I debating... I gotta talk this one over with DBF...

If you have never been there through the holidays, then GO FOR IT!!! It is beautiful. If you can swing it and think you will go back in this lifetime, I would get a Park Hopper ticket. Since they never expire, you would have it for later and then you could get a glimpse of more than one park.

I say go for it, as well. WDW is beautiful this time of year, and since your moms friend is paying for the plane/train/whatever and the hotel, its a pretty good price for you to pay for a quick trip to Disney!

Ill say go for it but warning.... we did a one day pass thing this past july and it was so sad to only be there one day and not have a chance to go to everything and do the vacation we wanted to do in the first place that I committed my tax return to another trip in Feb. You might end up rethinking the April vacation.

Go for it!!!! Personally, I think you might be a little crazy just for thinking that you may not go. I mean, anytime I got remotely close to the Florida state line, my rear end was at Disney.

I was tempted to make a detour south when I moved from South Carolina to Southern California. I would be at DL every weekend except that the crowds are much worse here than in Florida and they don't have fastpass on many of the rides. Well, that and the price of gas is outrageous out here. I also back Huakai up on the buying multi-day parkhopper if you have the money. Ticket prices go up every year so you end up saving money in the long run since they never expire. Christmas is one of my favorite times to go to WDW. You'll love it!!!!! Enjoy, even if it is for just one day.
