charging question

i feel dumb--but heres a question that i think i should know the answer too--but dont--
when you get your room key and allow stuff to be charged to it...does that mean EVERYTHING.....
like counter service resturants...as well as places like chef mickeys that arent IN the actual parks--but i guess thats a dumb question because you CAN charge the pizza delivery on it--but i mean--i would just need my key--and thats all--no credit cards or cash even (unless its for those little ice cream kiosk).....right?

Re: charging question

Yep.... you can charge anything in the parks and @ the resorts on your room key if you set it up that way at check in. From counter service and full service, to belly ache meds, lol.

Re: charging question

You must leave a credit card inprint at the time of check in. Just keep track of what you charge with receipts etc and carefully look over your bill at the end of the trip. Everyone makes mistakes, even disney, so beware of wrong charges.

Re: charging question

You can even sometimes charge from the ice cream/drink stands. Just ask, or you might even see a sign, or the wireless machine that they use.

There is a max total that WDW will let you charge on one card chit. When you reach the total, WDW will telephone you and they will have you come down and sign the chit and they will give you a copy. Then they will take another imprint of your card and you can start all over again.

Re: charging question

i never knew that--how slow am i--last year when we were there we charged a pizza to the room at ASMo.....never even thought about using it in the parks and stuff---even though we paid our meals by credit card---i dont think we will be charging to much except PS's and the ocassional turkey leg or two...we have meal vouchers--and are not very big on souvienrs...

Re: charging question

I think our max was $500. We had to start over with a new tab.

Re: charging question

I think about the only place you can't charge are some of the Drink and Ice Cream carts. And that's because they are cash only.

Re: charging question

That is the best feature!!!! We do keep track though. It could get out of hand very fast if you not tracking it. I call and check on room charges about every two days. My DW & I have about a $1000.00 max on each and recharge if needed.

One year I did loose my card, what a nightmare!!! Thank goodness no charged on it. One cast member did mention to write on the back of card "See License ", I thought that was a good idea!!! Just in case it was lost they would also need a picture ID for a big purchases. Don't forget that card comes out of your pocket a lot to FAST PASS rides. Thats how I lost mine. I put the darn things down on top of the machine as I collect FP tickets and when the last ticket came out I grab it and left the card in the slot, than took the rest of the cards from the top of the machine. Hey I just caught my self rambling. Way to early for the weekend to be posting!!!
