I graduated!!!!

Yippeeee!!! I graduated from MTSU yesterday!!!!! Yeeessirreee, I did it. It was a very long ceremony with 830 graduates and Isaac Hayes was our guest speaker (the guy who wrote the soundtrack for "Shaft" and is the voice of the Chef on SouthPark on ComedyCentral). My DD, DM and DF and DSM (who came from North Carolina) were all there watch me walk and receive my diploma. It was very cool. I wore my Mickey ear graduation cap and matching shirt when my DD, DF, DSM, and I went to dinner at the Melting Pot in Nashville. My DD and I love that restaurant. What a treat!!!

I have my Bachelor of Science in Political Science and am now waiting for my final grade in student teaching to be posted. I am also waiting for my score for my second licensure exam and I am getting ready to take the third exam on January 6th.

This was a very long road for me and I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am. Now my next hurdle is to find a job as a teacher. No problem.

Thanks, everyone. I am very happy and proud and so is my family. When my name when announced and I accepted my diploma, I heard lil brer holler "that's my Mom!" I thought that was very cool! She was part of the reason I tried so hard to get this done. I am the first person on my mother's side of the family to graduate college and the first (and I am the oldest) grandchild on my dad's side. I thanked my grandma (on mom's side) yesterday for everything that she did to get me to graduation and she told me she was so proud of me. She paid for my last year or so of school without her, I never would have made it graduation. I am so amazed ans thankful that I have my degree. I know that the next part is just as hard, but I'm enjoying and savoring this part while it lasts.

Thank you to each and every one of you. You guys keep me sane and I love you all for it.

They posted my grade for student teaching this morning and I passed!! Woohoo!!! Now I just have to wait for that manila envelope with the actual diploma in it to arrive. I can't wait. That is another hurdle jumped.
