Would you let me plan your trip?

OK I am considering doing some Disney trip planning for a travel agency, or possibly going off on my own. I just wondered if you would allow a 16 year old to plan your trip for you, if he was certified by Disney to do so. (Or if yo are in the Travel Planning Industry would you hire a 16 year old?)

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

Yup, I would definitely let you make a proposal. I'd need to be able to make make changes if I didn't like one or the other part of the plan.

Of course... because despite my personal beliefs about Disney, the customer is the one paying for and taking the trip. (As much as I would like to be going)

I would really like to hear why from the people that voted no.

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

Actually I almost voted 'NO'. Why? Because I had too much fun putting our trip together with the help of so many people here and using other means of getting information. But I wanted to let you know that you are a great planner and a very informed planner. So, yes, you can do it. No, I had too much fun doing that myself.

I'd do it. I'd let you plan my trip. YOu know so much about all of Disney. Of course, I'm sure you would tailor it to my liking, but I'd let you plan it.

You know, I was thinking/and am doing the same thing. After our successful trip my DH said I should do something with my "talent".

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

I voted no just because I enjoy planning everything myself. That is half the fun for me. How would you get "certified" by disney? I wasn't sure what that meant.

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

Disney has a program where you get certified by Disney's College of Knowlege. You take a test about WDW, Disney Cruise Line, DLR, and DCA.

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

Well, if you took and passed such a course then you would be just as qualified as older people would be and I don't see that your age would be an issue. Do they let young people like yourself enroll in such a course or is there an age requirement? Maybe you could look into getting a summer job at a travel agency. It may be just a go-fer type position at first but once they see you are a go-getter type person it could open doors for you.

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

OK I just want to clarify: I am NOT trying to get any of you as customers!!!!!!

I myself used Mickey this trip, and he did a wonderful job!!! I am so glad that I did because I simply am not educated at the moment enough on the topic of the new packages etc. I really hope that no one took it this way. I actually am not trying to target the online market, simply the local market. I think that will keep me busy for now, and then when I get more time this summer we will see where it all takes me.

I simply wondered how much age would be a factor in you allowing somone to plan your vacation. My mom and grandmother wern't sure that people would actually allow me to plan their vacation because of my age. Just wanted to get input from you guys here on DC...

Re: Would you let me plan your trip?

I voted no, for a couple of reasons. 1. As others have said part of the fun is the planning. I start planning my next trip, as many others here do, the minute I get home! 2. My other reason is because of your age, sorry to say. My vacation is too important for me to trust a 16 year old with. Though I am sure you are not the typical 16 year old and have a great amount of knowledge about Disney, I would be uncomfortable with the thought.
