Monorail Upgrades

Yes, the monorails are FINALLY getting the automatic gates that are used at all of the Disney rides. This means no more running around for CM's trying to open/close the gates. The first station to get these gates is the MK station, and they are expected to be in by March 2005.

I did think that it was odd they were not automatic. Glad they are making it nicer : )

it should also be safer not haveing CM walking with in inches of a moving monorail. Glad to see its finnally happening. Now if they could get a decent sounding PA in the MK station that would be great.

This is good news, I always wondered why the gates were not automatic. This sounds like a very safe addition.

I don't realy thik it's all that "dangerous" It's not like theres only 2 foot of platform form them to stand on.

Now, if the gates are going to be automatic, does that mean no more CM's? And if there's no more CM's then how do you ask to ride in the front?

I am sure there will have to be a certain amount of CM's up there to ensure that everything is going right.

That guy is still sort-of there. He may or may not be on your monorail ride.

^^ LOL I think I will miss the old gates too. The anticipation of waiting for the CM to get to our gate slowly sliding the gate myself a little but not enought to get looked at by the CM. LOL.

I wonder how many fingers have been smashed in the old system gates????
