WDW story time :)
another thread reminded me of this and I thought someone else might find this a fun thing to do with thier children/ grandchildren
several years ago when the girls were 5 and 7 I started a story one evening to entertain them .. the story was about them (only they were princesses ( is that spelled right?) and they were visiting WDW.. It would always start with checking in to a resort and include chats and rides with thier favorite charactors ..but the fun part of the story was when I would stop and they would have to add to the story, so that we took turns making up our WDW "fairytale" ..some of these would last a couple of hours :) I had thought they had out grown them ( the girls are 11 and 13 now) but this past summer they wanted me to start one ..it was so much fun. but what was really a bit interesting was now instead of riding with Jasmine on the magic carpet over the Kingdom .. they were riding with Aladdin .. the 13 year old was including a bit of meeting up with her favorite Back Street boy :)

She was a lovely princess, with long, dark chestnut hair, and blue eyes that looked like dark pansies in the springtime. She had everything she could ever want... a loving, but protective father, a famous older brother who was off slaying dragons, and servants who adored her kind ways and quick wit. She had everything... except...

True Love
Tinkerbell, that is such a Terrific idea. I had to laugh when I saw how the 13 yo was including the boys now hahah. Thanks for the idea. As you can tell, I'm not too good at storytelling yet. Anyone want to take it from the "True love" part :D :)

The King wanted his princess to be happy and he knew of a Magical World where dreams that you wished for could come true. so he gathered his family and said "We are going to take a trip to a Magical place" He smiled at his daughter and told her to hurry and pack and they would be off on the royal flying Carpet with only one stop over in Atlanta Ga. *grin* they would be there in only 5 hours.

(Five hours from Atlanta to WDW? Wow, that's a heck of a carpet ride! :D )
From the back of the carpet, Princess Minnie sighed (she was named after a Magical Princess, her father the king, claimed). He was sitting in the front of the carpet, singing "It's a world of laughter, a world of tears..." over and over and over again (and he never let her drive, much to her chagrin.) She listened to his off-key baritone and smiled deep inside - her father was gruff and powerful in the Kingdom, but when it came to making her happy, he would stop at nothing. She sighed again, and leaned forward, resting her head on her hands. "Why so long in the face, wee Minnie?" he asked gently. "We are going to a Magical Place, after all. Don't you want to go?" Minnie looked up at him forlornly, "I do Father. I'm really greatful that you would take time away from your kingdom, and spend precious castle funds in order to cheer me up (you all *did* say this was a fairy tale, right?), but something is missing in my life and I'm not quite sure what it is." The King looked at her and smiled. He knew the one thing she was missing. True Love. (anyone hearing an old priest singsong stuttering this out? The King also knew he couldn't buy it for her, he couldn't champion it for her, and he couldn't find it for her. He turned and looked at gleaming spires just coming up over the the horizon and gently sang "I can show you the world..." Next?

Then King Walter had a magical brainstorm. Maybe he could create the perfect companion for Minnie!? But where to begin, where to begin? He thought and he thought. First, he needed a name. The first thing that came to mind was Mortimer. But the queen thought that wasn't right, and they started to think of other names. In the meantime, King Walter called all his sorcerers together, and told them to carve a magical place out of the forest, with a castle, and a moat, and all the things a Magical Kingdom should have.:D :)
