Going in October
Has anybody been there in late October and early November? Just wondering how crowded it will be. Just booked 2 nights at All Star Sports but couldn't get into the movies. Leaving on October 26 driving from Syracuse NY and hopefully arriving on the 27. This is my first time driving down there and with two kids and my husband. Is anyone going to be down at WDW from October 27 thur Nov 8? Last time I was there was back in 97 in May (hot and crowded). I just can't seem to get organized trying to fit everything in, any suggestions.
Last time I went I had a daily planner, what park, what day, and where to eat. Now that I have found this site I can't choose where to eat because of the good reviews. Help!!!! Thanks Jessie

October is our 2nd most favorite time of the year to go (our 1st is the first two weeks in December). We have been in October 2 or 3 times. It is so great. Crowds are low, weather is supurb!! (hardly any rain and 80's for the highs!)
I think you choose a great time to go. (Although I'm curious to know why you couldn't get in to All Stars Movies. Is there a convention? Was All Stars Music booked too?) We stayed at Surfs Up at All Stars Sports right after they opened in 94. It was very nice. We have always enjoyed the All Stars. As far as meals go, I've said it before....and I'll say it again.....O'hana!!! (in the Polynesian Resort). This is a MUST! There are so many great restaurants in WDW. Are you wanting suggestions on fast food? Full Service? ...or both). How many days will you be in the parks? How old are your kiddos? I'll be able to give you better suggestions if you can let me know. By the way.....Welcome to Disney Central!

Hi and thanks for your help. The movies was all booked up for the 2 days I needed, guess they go first. All they had were music and the sports left. So I choose the sports because we were there in 97 and stayed at the baseball section. Is a preferred room $10 extra a night? I didn't get it but I think now I want one. If you can help both fast food and full service. I bought a 5 day pass with the two extras. Also have the 5 day pass for Universal. My kids, Julia is 8 and Steven Jr. is 4. My daughter says that she doesn't want to go with us because she doesn't want to miss school!!! SHE'S GOING. My son is very tall and I think the only ride he can't go on is Rock'n'Roller Coaster unless he growes a couple of inches by the time we leave. Oh we are staying at my mother-in-law's condo for the first week and then the comfort suites for 3 nights, and then all star sports for 2 nights. Thanks again for your help.

O'hana
Forgot to ask about O'hana's. How much is it for adults and children? Is it buffet style? Do you prefer breakfast or Dinner?
I'm thinking about going to Mickey's backyard barbecue and have never been. Also chef mickey's is great might go there. Can't wait to go!! Jessie

Hello, again!
O'hana is $21.99/adult ($14? for kids -- I can't remember for sure) It is all you can eat, but it is not buffet style, it family style. Whether it is more appetizer you want or your 15th plate of shrimp, they will keep bringing more of what YOU want until you say NO MORE!! This IS THE BEST food in all of WDW, and it is the best kept secrect. It amazes me how many people I come across that have never heard of it! My other favs for sit down in Magic Kingdom are Cinderellas Royal Table (inside of the castle). A LOT of people do this for breakfast (you eat with Cinderella and a cast of others from Peter Pan, etc) but we always do lunch. (No characters, but it is lovely to get a window seat and watch everyone on there way through Fantasyland) Also, Tonys Town Square Restaurant is fun, too. For Fast Food in the Magic Kingdom, I really like Pinocchios' Village Haus (between Small World and Ariel's Grotto). Try to get a window seat here to watch the It's a Small World boats depart. It is fun. My hubby's fav in MK for Fast Food is Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square. Fish and Chicken and Fries. Our # 1 favorite fast food in the MK is Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland . Lots of choices. Good food. On to EPCOT. Our Favorite Sit Down in Epcot is Teppanyki Dining Room in Japan and Garden Grill (in The Land). These are both very nice, for very different reasons. Our favorite fast food in EPCOT is the Sunshine Season Food Court (in the Land). Lots of quick, yummy choices here. Something for everyone! Also, several people say that Le Cellier at Canada is wonderful. We are going to try that out in May. In Disney/MGM our fav sit down meal would have to be 50's prime time cafe, but our fav for atmosphere would be Sci Fi Drive In. I would go to the Sci Fi and have a milk shake in the mid afternoon, just to check this fabulous place out! Our Favorite Fast food would have to be Sunset Ranch Market for the turkey legs and sausage. If your kids are big fans of Toy Story, take them to pizza planet. I can't say I care for WDW's pizza, but the kids really enjoy it there. Animal Kingdom: Our fav sit down is Rainforest cafe. I can't say I have a favorite for fast food, but I hear the Tusker House is good and we are going to try it next time. The Restauratsaurus is just an overpriced McDonalds. It's okay...but, like I said...it' McDonalds. I wouldn't forget Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary. It is such a great place to meet the characters. It is a great experience. (all you can eat buffet, with a separate buffet for the kiddos) Also, Fort Wilderness is a fun place to spend a couple hours, and one of my favorite restaurants is here, too (Trails End Buffet) Bring the kids to the petting farm, stroll around watching the peacocks, and let the kids play on the playground. Then take a boat back to the magic kingdom for the fireworks or stay for the free campfire with chip and dale! There is so much to plan...and it is so much fun to do! Here are 2 great websites you need to check out so you can make the most of your trip: www. wdwig.com will give you all the details about Disney World and to get priority seating information for you dinner "reservations" go to www.pscalculator.com.

Please post a trip report when you get back. I would like to know how Cape May is. I've always heard its really good.
Yeah, Typhoon Lagoon will be closed, but Blizzard Beach is great! My kids got to swim with Lifeguard Goofy in June. My daughter loved it!! You still have time to get your itinerary together before your trip. It sure makes our trip much easier having it in hand and knowing we're not missing a thing!! Have fun planning!

cape may
I have been to Cape May in 1997. If you like seafood this is the place to be. Very good food. They have clams, chowder, shrimp, and mussels. My daughter loves steamed clams, just like her mommy and daddy. Plus they have food for the kids like chicken and I think pizza (not sure). The desserts are good too! It is buffet style.

Aside from this site, the best planning tool I used was the Passporter. It helps you set up and keep track of everything. I would definately recommend it to anyone. It cost about $22 and worth tens times that to a anal planner who tends to lose thing such as myself.
