Help the CEO Search!!!

I go to savedisney.com and I am on the mailing list and Roy Disney and Stan Gold are asking people to either email or fax a letter to the Board regarding the CEO search, you can go here to send an email:

http://www.savedisney.com/contact/em...sp?auid=757358

Here is the letter if you want to copy and paste it into a Word document to fax:

You can fax it to:

George Mitchell (Chairman, Walt Disney Company Board of Directors)
FAX: (202) 689-8562

Alan Braverman (Walt Disney Company General Counsel)
FAX: (818) 569-5146

Dear Disney Board of Directors,

I agree with Roy and Stan's assessment of the CEO search. It is counterproductive to have Michael Eisner have a hand in interviewing his own replacement and will never result in the best possible candidate being selected.

I also agree that the cover-up of the facts surrounding the acquisition and valuation of the Fox Family Channel has gone on long enough. Let's get to the bottom of it and hold those who acted irresponsibly accountable for their actions.

The Walt Disney Company deserves a fresh start and I expect the Board to do its part to set the Company once again on the right path.

No but I don't hate him.

Ok you asked for it...

I think that Eisner is much maligned. While I think he need to step down because he has been there to long I don't think he has been the horror show some have made him out to be. I am the first to admit that it hasn't been perfect but who/what is?

I'm going to stop there before I get in trouble.

He has destroyed the relationship with Pixar, who was a huge money maker for Disney, Pixar kept the revenue up when Disney was falling. I am not saying Disney is all about just making money, Pixar stepped up when Disney made films were falling apart. As a shareholder I do want to see profits and steady revenue.

Eisner needs to go asap, read the new book Disney War.

Eisner also has insisted, in a turn that would send Disney spinning in his grave, that "We have no obligation to make art. . . . We have no obligation to make a statement." By which, presumably, Eisner meant that the keepers of the Disney brand had only an obligation to make money, even if it meant burning down the barn to keep the mice from fleeing.

Eisner hired or approved the hiring of one disastrous, expensive executive after another. He let Disney's gold-standard brand get tarnished one time too many -- until, in a humiliating moment, Disney's board, spearheaded by a vengeful Disney heir, stripped him of the chairmanship last year.

Re: Help the CEO Search!!!

Ok I'm not looking for a fight or argument but I think the Pixar thing might have just a little bit to do with Steve Jobs (I am a Mac user and really like Steve but the guy has an ego larger the SSE).

Disney War, while probably has much truth, is written to sell so it is spun to get people excited.

Like I said before Eisner did a number of very good things for Disney (MGM/AK/ESPN/the Resorts/ABC/DLP/DLT/etc) that very passionate people seem to over look for some later missteps (that I agree were bad). I just try to look at the whole instead of the parts that make me made.

I don't hate Eisner, I don't love Eisner...but we agree he needs to go.

I am def not looking to argue. The MGM license agreement is up in June, so it will be Disney Studios soon and all of the MGM logos will be gone, if you notice they have already started calling it Disney Studios in the vacation dvd's. ABC hasn't been the best deal, ESPN was great. Animal Kingdom is the weakest park of all, I saw an article regarding the attendance and it has been going down since it opened, to me it's a half day park at best, I still go but only once a trip and I hit certain rides. The Fox Kids channel has also been a failure for Eisner.

The Comcast takeover offer last spring was one reason the stick jumped a few bucks, earnings are up since last year which is good, hopefully once Eisner's replacement is announced, I hope its not on of his "buddies", the stock will jump some.

Eisner was successful due to his Frank Wells, once he died Esiner was on his own and thats when it started falling.

Re: Help the CEO Search!!!

Hey I love AK! I think it is a great park and could spend all day there (EPCOT didn't do very well it's first decade either)...I don't think they need MGM to give Disney Studies credibility anymore...

I guess you know my opinion so I'm out of here...
