Disney Direct sales?

What happened to the "under $10" category that used to be on the disneystore.com site? I can't find it in Disney Direct. The only thing I can find for under $10 on the disneydirect.com site are slippers, and half of them seem to be out of stock. Just wondering if Disney Direct isn't doing sales like they used to, or if I just hit it at a bad time.

(I know this is kind of a weird question, but I'm bored and I wanted to order myself something without having to save up for it. )

Re: Disney Direct sales?

They changed concepts again. They have the "last chance" clearance section now, but very few things under $10. I loved the old format better than this "gift finder" thingy they are doing now.

Re: Disney Direct sales?

Thanks Dana. I don't really like the new setup either. They don't seem to have very much anymore. Guess I'll have to just save up and go on a shopping spree in the parks!

Me too. I still manage to get a few things here and there on clearance from them and sometimes I will grab an owfit that catches my eye, but that's about it. I do most of my shopping on there for the holidays. I get my DD a few snowglobes each year. I love when they do the $20 off the snow globes. I will grab one or two each time they do it. I also stock up on the pin sale that they do twice a year or so.

Re: Disney Direct sales?

I noticed their "last chance" items are still more than I'm willing to pay.

14 years ago I worked in the stock room of an Express (women's clothing). New dresses would start off at $100. They'd be marked down again and again and again. There last stop was the $9.99 rack. At this point Express was STILL making a profit if they sold the dress. If it didn't sell there, they'd sell it all in bulk to Burlington Coat Factory for a couple bucks per item. This was STILL profit.

So when Disney Direct has a "Last Chance" item for $30. Sorry, it will turn up cheaper someplace else.
