Tips to calm excitement?

OMG . . . three days and we're off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, DS is driving me crazy. Can't sit still. Can't stop talking about WDW. Constantly checking piles of things we're taking with us. Looking at the calendar eighty times each day. Looking at WDW books and pics until eyes fall out of head. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

oh, wait. that would be me.

Re: Tips to calm excitement?

I can totally relate! You don't have long to go. On my last few days before our trips, I get everything packed, clean the house, and run all the pre tip errands to make sure everything at home will be fine while we are gone. Then, we watch Disney movies, and we through a "We're going to Disney Dinner Party." The whole family loves it and the kids help decorate the house and plan the menu. Hope this helps, and have fun on your trip!

Re: Tips to calm excitement?

I can't imagine there being a remedy to calm the excitement. It is just such an overwhelming feeling that it has to be classified as "uncontrollable" - I still have 5 weeks to go and I do a Disney dance at least once a day!! I can't wait to see my little girl's face when we get there - and go figure I plan Disney vacations for a living and I STILL get this excited

Re: Tips to calm excitement?

Like Pooh Fan, we do a Disney dinner and movie before we leave. We try to make it as Disney-ish as we can. Go to the party aisle at Wal Mart or a party store and see it they have any Disney Birthday stuff that isn't too birthday-like. The kids lke stuff like this.

Don't forget the Mickey cheese!

Re: Tips to calm excitement?

Never, ever try to calm the excitement! That's a special part of your vacation! In fact, think of ways to pump it up even more! Let it roll over you in waves... wallow in the thrill, feel the adrenaline! Scream a little! Tell EVERYONE you see that you are about to go to WDW! Wow! I wish I could feel it now, but I don't have a trip planned!!!

Re: Tips to calm excitement?

Aw shucks. Thanks everyone! I get goose bumps just reading through your posts. I've discovered I can't squelch the excitement no matter how hard I try anyway. Time to enjoy the moments because it will probably be a couple years before we have the opportunity again! (Unless we win a lottery or something . . . )

Think about it: would you actually not want to be as excited as you all are? I love those last days of waiting. I am so excited by that point, I can hardly sleep. It makes going to WDW so much fun. I go through scenerios like :In three days at this time, I will be at MK riding Buzz...stuff like that. Have a great trip.
