And if you want to get a future credit against any parental guilt for a year (or at least a few months), get the Unofficial Guide and follow the "Magic Kingdom Dumbo-or-Die-in-a-Day" Touring Plan (p. 487). It's basically throwing yourself on your sword for your child. Do that the first day and then you can treat yourself some!

No problem, my daughter flew from Boston to California with her 5 year old and stayed at the california adventure hotel, was there for 6 days, during that horrid rainy season in January. And they had a wonderful time, and only one sunny day and that was the day before they left to come home. You can do it, enjoy........take care

I'm with everyone else and think you would be crazy not to do it.

I meet up with several friends each year down in Disney who solo it with just their child/children. They have the greatest times and keep coming back each year.

I went with my family last July but my daughter broke her leg just before that and the other kids wanted go do other stuff, so me and my daughter (5 years old) spent most of our time together it was just the two of us. It was so great we really enjoyed each other. It was a very special time for both of us.

I'm with everyone else!!! My DD and I went on a Mommy and Me trip last May, she was 5. We had the best time ever!!! We really focused on what she wanted to do, and had a blast!!! She felt like such a "big" girl at the airport, she took care of her own luggage and everything. I'd do it again in a heartbeat...but DH said he missed us to much!!

I don't think you will ahve any problem being on your own. I usually go with just my DD. It's nice to have that time with her. You are going to have a great time.

If she is well behaved I would definitely do it. My dd (4) is wellbehaved and I would take her by herself but not with ds.

I have taken my DD ( who turns five today - an April Fool's Baby) by myself to WDW twice. We enjoy WDW much more than DH! So he took a Vegas trip- We took a WDW trip

Both times we had a great time. We we able to focus on the rides she wanted to go on, saw a ton of characters and watched all the parades.

However it was a little hard in the airport going through security, handling all the bags by yourself and having to take all your bags to the bathroom when you had to go

I would not hesistate to do it again. However my DS is due 4/22/05. So it will be a while before DD and I take a trip again!

I would not pass it up for one second.... I was able to take my DD on a girls only trip not long before she passed.... don't ever pass one single moment ºoº Judy

I say Go! and have fun. I used to take my daughter all the time, just the two of us and it was a lot of fun. She got so used to it, that when the second one came, she was mad to have to share disney with her sister.

Thanks everyone for having faith in me!! I have decided to go. DH is going to try to come with us, but I have to say after reading all of these responses, I am really looking forward to having a mommy and me trip. Is it wrong to secretly pray that DH will not be able to get off of work!?!

Not at all... I remember have one of the very best times there when my DH could not go.... I would not trade the memories for anything in the world... ºoºJudy
