Five Official Overhauls Likely Soon
Disney just announced five major overhauls coming to their theme parks in WDW. Apparently they wanted to get all old rides and attractions updated first and finish all new projects in time for the 50th celebration so they could concentrate efforts on five dead spots in the parks during what is sure to be one of the biggest bashes in Disney History.
First, the Tomorrowland Theatre will finally be covered and a new "Space" show will be added. It will be heavily themed to Buzz and the Green Space men but will also showcase elements from TRON, Black Hole, Star Wars, and even Treasure Planet. This is most likely a place holder attraction until a more permanent show can be found. Much like the Jungle Book show before Tarzan Rocks. Next, the Odyssey restaurant in Epcot will be rethemed and named Flavor Fair and will have several food court style sections themed to countries not currently in EPCOT. Similar to the Millinium Village or Food and Wine Festival when other countries have a chance to share some of their unique national dishes, the Flavor Fair shall showcase four distinct countries (which may change from time to time) with a broader range of food and drink offerings and a small showstage for various acts throughout the day displaying some cultural dances and whatnot from the participating countries. Third, the former Super Star Television building in MGM will become the "Power Rangers: Fight for what's Right Show Extravaganza". Long title, but somehow fitting for the Power Rangers. Yes, the addition in the Parade was no fluke, the Rangers are coming to visitors live in a tour de force little boys and little boys at heart are sure to eat up. The show will have audience participation bringing back Foley effect demonstrations, green screen techniques, ending with a final fight against some of the worst of the worst from the shows past. The key of the show is to demonstrate filming techniques while not destroying the realism of the rangers and presenting it all in an energetic, exciting action environment everyone should enjoy. Pyrotechnics, On Stage illusions, and more will help blend reality with fantasy and should be different from anything before. Next, we move to Blizzard Beach where a real Blizzard is brewing again... that's right... a new addition is coming. The recent addition to Typhoon Lagoon sparked the idea of adding something to Blizzard Beach. It is expected that the new Water Coasters of Typhoon Lagoon will pull crowds away from the other water park, but to keep customers happy on both ends and to even the crowds out a smaller addition will be added to Blizzard Beach. It will be similar to the Tornado slides being added to all the Six Flags parks lately only much more theme. The End will be themed heavily to a Tornado - duh! The outer edge of the funnels theming will look like spinning wind and will actually rotate. Throughout the slide segment, you will experience artifical snow falling on you just before plummeting into the eye of the storm itself. Finally, Discovery Island will become LOST isle! This will be a new attraction experience. Every 30 minutes a new group of 6 to 10 LOST participants will be "escorted" to the island. Themed to be an excursion tour of the Seven Seas Lagoon that goes wrong... you "wreck" onto the island and must complete a series of Obstacle Courses to proceed to the next area. The Group may need to work together or each member may need to compete with each other for special items of usefullness or simply bragging rights. A few new animals and tropical plant life will be added to the island to increase the experience. Each obstacle will have a kid friendly challenge for the little ones. One experience involves crossing a creaking swinging bridge that, with the help of pullies and sound effects, begins to break. Of course, no one is ever in Danger, but it's the element of getting over your fears that's the real challenge here. All these changes are fully welcome. The Blizzard Beach addition will happen in it's down time this coming winter. The other changes will mostly be out of sight, out of mind which is exactly the type of things Disney should work on during a celebration. By the Way, if you look at the first letters in the title of this thread you will realize that it is the first of the month today. Sorry. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.

Re: Five Official Overhauls Likely Soon
You had me up to the Discovery Island part. Even as good as LOST is, it is too soon for Disney to make it a part of the parks.
Good Job.

Re: Five Official Overhauls Likely Soon
Maybe you should pitch some of those ideas to Disney -- there were some excellent descriptions in there, and I think the being-pelted-with-real-snow might be a welcome experience during those summer months! ;)

Re: Five Official Overhauls Likely Soon
Spidey... you should be working at WDW!!! Who should I call right now to get you hired on as a WDW consultant? You are smart, creative and amazing. Good work! (And I like the idea of Discovery Island!)
Hey, you missed a spot... what about the dead areas over in EC... you know, by Living with the Land -- that area where nobody ever goes... come up with something quick!
