7 or 10 days?

I am struggling with a decision and I need to book airfare soon. Should we go for 7 or 10 days? With the new MYW tix it will only cost a few dollars more. But we will have to pay an extra $100 per night (PC) plus extra food money. That's not an issue. The problem is, we've never stayed for more than 6 days and we are always exhausted. I do not know if we can handle 10 days. What do you guys think? Help me come up with reasons to stay longer.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

Do you really expect anyone to say you should stay for only 7??

Honestly Jeff, if you guys are exhausted after a week (I know I always am!) there's no reason why you can't go for 10....because with those extra days, you can throw in more rest time!

A rest day or two...even if it means you just take it easy and laze around at one park...will do you WONDERS! That way you can enjoy an extra-long trip without paying the price afterwords.

Go for 10. PLEASE. If it won't cost too much extra, you know it will be worth it!!

Re: 7 or 10 days?

If you stay longer you can take your time and not rush every thing therefore you won't be so exhausted! You can take a day off from the parks and enjoy a day at the resorts. We have been for 7 days, 10 days and 14 days our next trip is 21 days, the longer the better IMHO!

Re: 7 or 10 days?

Well, you guys are right. I think we go so commando for 6 days that we wear ourselves out. If we go 10 we can take our time. If a park is crowded, we can always leave and come back again later. With a shorter trip, we would feel pressured to stay and get frustrated with the crowds and therefore more exhausted.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

That's exactly my problem when I go for only a week...I go commando the ENTIRE TIME. I usually end up cranky by the last 2 days, which is never a good thing.

So longer is better! Less stress, more fun!

Sit back and imagine how much more you could do and still find time to relax in 10 days.
Go for it !!!!

When I decide on a WDW vacation I always begin telling the DW that is will be only this about of days and then I push it as much as I can! We have done 11 days in a row at WDW and it was awesome. A day at the pool while the boys are at DisneyQuest, there are all kinds of ways to chill out after those commando days. Go for it!!

Re: 7 or 10 days?

If you want to take a rest day, but still have the day on your MYW ticket...you could always spend the day doing relaxing things like lazing around your resort, exploring other resorts, etc. And then go to a park in the evening for a big dinner & fireworks or Fantasmic, and maybe a couple of attractions. That should help you take a breather without wasting a day on your ticket.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

Unless you are one of those lucky people who can visit two or more times a year, the longer, the better. We were there 10 days last time, planning 14 this time. My thought is we have already paid for admission, air fare and transportion to and from the airport. The room costs add up, but I'd eat p&j sandwiches for three days if I had to, of course we'd have our mugs, so we wouldn't be thirsty. Plus I always feel so bad when someone tells about a 6 day trip and the kids were sick for 3 days, or it rained all week and the sun came out the day they left.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

More is better. We always go for 6-8 days but we decided to take a longer trip this summer. I plan to take to a little slower and enjoy some rest time. We don't plan to every Early Entry and we always take a break.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

Go for the 10! We decided since there is a large group of us going that 10 days would allow us a more leisurely pace (if there is such a thing). We are only getting the MYW tickets for 6 days though. We figured we will go into the parks for 6 days and that leaves 3 other full days for water parks, resort exploring and other activities.

Re: 7 or 10 days?

Definitely 10!! The longer the better. Taking days in between to rest and doing things you normally would not spend time doing to relax is the best type of vacation! Spend time at the pool, doing other recreational activities, exploring other resorts via monorail to name a few....Enjoy yourself!
