Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
Just wondering what odd (or should I say large) souviners you've brough home from a WDW trip.
This year we bought DS his first monorail. It wasn't too tough to get that home. Last year it was a large Mickey salad bowl. More of a challenge on the plane..........same with the year before that with a large bucket of Leggos.

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
We normally end up with LARGE stuffed characters. A few trips ago we had an oversized Pluto laying on top of the luggage in the back of the minivan. WDW is only a 3 hr drive from us so bringing home purchases is easy.

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
Several years back my husband was tempted to tote a huge elephant statue from AK back with us. We had just completed our rec room in an African theme and he fell in love with this elephant. He never buys anything for himself and I kept urging him to buy it -even though it meant we'd have to ship it all the way to Canada. Finally on the last day he caved in and went to buy it - and it was gone. They only had the one. He's mourned that elephant ever since. I keep a lookout for another one every time we go.

The best is the ceramic coffee cannister that looks exactly like the aluminum cans of theme park coffee!!! I see it every morning when I get out of bed! I carried it in my lap all the way home on the plane.

I usually end up with a new big figure, but I just pay to have it shipped home...no way I would ever get it on the plane!

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
We bought the Monorail and every year we try and add a part to it, so far we have the Epcot Ball, The Grand Floridian, MGM hat, the teacups ride, the Dumbo ride, and the Haunted mansion, and Astro orbiter. To get the Monorail and the track home we had to open the box and pack everything very carefully, and we were delighted to find everything arrived back home safely. The 'attractions' we have always left in their boxes and just crossed our fingers, and I am happy to say we have not lost anything yet or had anything broken. They are all put out once a year under our Christmas tree with all our other Disney memorabilia and we have a regular WDW going on right under our tree!

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
Last trip my DH bought a very large Jack Skellington musical water globe with movement, but we were afraid to pack it so we had it shipped. I was very nervous but it arrived in perfect condition.

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
My son was obsessesed with the swords in the China pavillion. We bought one and had it shipped...(an obvious requirement....can't see walking around Epcot wielding a Chinese sword
)It was waiting for us when we got home.

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
Every summer, DS picks out his new school backpack from one of the themeparks. It's actually a plus to have it to bring home with us though.
We thought we'd have a problem with the Indiana Jones shotgun, but that went thru security easily enough. The hardest thing we ever tried to take home were those Mickey-head bottle openers. We liked them so much we bought one for ourselves as well as some for gifts. Those puppies were HEAVY!!!

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
We have a lot of large stuffed animals, as far as odd, well I don't know if it is odd or not, but I love the antena toppers and buy them by the dozens anytime we go. I am trying to get one for every month/ season.

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
I've always wanted that electric monorail to set up on the shelf that goes along the wall of my family room, but it is too big to take on the plane and very expensive to ship!
Maybe this year though.......... ![]()

Re: Odd / Large Disney Souviners?
Years ago, I bought a large stuffed Pooh. He was about knee tall. Not really odd, but it took up quite a bit of space in the car.
