Florida weather

I have seen posts that state it is "cooler" in early December and early February. Can anyone tell me what the average temperature and rainfall is like these times of year?

Thanks!

Re: Florida weather

I went in January 2004 and had a variety of weather. The first day there was in the low 80's and sunny. The next afternoon a cold front moved through and it dropped into the low 40s at night and was windy and 50's for a high the next day. It rained 2 nights but not very heavy. 4-5 of the days it was in the low 60's during the day. I did not take a winter coat and needed one.

Re: Florida weather

Rain is rare in DEC, although we still do get the occasional rainy day. Temps generally start in the 30's and work there way up into the 50's or 60's. Its really not good swiming weather. Dec is the most awesome time of the year to be hear with all the XMAS decorations up.

Re: Florida weather

We go every year in December.
Last year the 1st week was great weather in the 80s and sunny (12/4-12/11)
The next week was chilly especially at night temps in low 60s during the day and as low as 35 at night 12/12-12/19.
It is still the best time of year to go. The weather is just more unpredicatable.

The mean temperature here in Orlando for the month of December is 62 degrees, with an average high of 71 and an average low of 51. An average of 2.2 inches of rain falls in the month, and an average of one day each December is below freezing. The February mean is 61 with an average high of 72 and an average low of 48 with 3.0 inches of rain. Relative humidity is low both months.

Central Florida is prone to wide temperature swings on a daily basis in the winter, though, and it's not uncommon to see the temperature fluctuate 30 degrees in a single day. Bottom line: Most likely you'll have wonderful weather, but be prepared for anything.

Re: Florida weather

Thanks for all the info. I think that the low crowds are outweighing the lower temp. I think we will be going Nov. 30 through Dec. 8, 2005.
