Memorial day for me was a day at the pool with my DD and her girlfriends. The only way to get through a day like that is a trip to the book store for some WDW guides to make the time pass. I spent $12.95 on the 2005 version of the "cheapskates guide to WDW". I am so upset with this book. It's well written and gives great little tips and all, but it's totally clear these people did not do their research. I found MANY errors. First let me say that they had the updates on park admission and the MYW stuff. That's what hooked me in. I figured it was printed after the change and they would have some up-to-date info. WRONG! They had river country listed as a water park!!!! HELLO! They also had Hollywood and Vine listed as a character meal as well as the Wilderness Lodge. WL hasn't had a character meal in YEARS and hollywood and vine discontinued theirs quite some time ago. I checked the cover again after reading this to make sure this was a 2005 version. I sware I am going to write to these people. They are giving misinformation to people who are looking to them for help with a trip. These boo-boo's were only the major ones. I found many more little ones like which characters to find at what meals etc. This book is a disgrace of a guide. OK rant over, but I want my $12.95 back. one more thing, their tour plans are laughable.

Write them a letter or send an email! They need to know! Or you could contact the publishing company! Put that ranting to good use!

Dana, that is so bad. I was thinking of buying a WDW guide book of some kind as well. Thanks for posting this cause I'll make sure not to buy that one. Can you return it?

I am contacting them alright. I buy all kinds of guides for WDW and am amazed at the misinformation that is between the two covers. It's usually just little things that could have easily been to little knowledge at the time of press, but this book is just a disgrace.

I read this book but an earlier version. I thought it was just OK (heck, I think every book written about WDW is at least OK). I would write the publishers.

I don't think so, but I am going to call Barnes and Noble tomorrow and find out what their policy is. If you are looking for a good guide book, I highly suggest you to get the Unofficial Guide to WDW or Passporter Guide to WDW. These books are both excellent and provide great tips. I would hold off on the unofficial until September. They will release their new guide with the new MYW, attractions and ME. It wouldn't make sense to get it now with such important new information not in it. The passporter is also not up-to-date yet, but still an excellent guide with planning tools.

So, Dana, I havea question for you. If you know all the info is wrong in these books , why don't you write a book??? I would definently buy one written by you!!! I bet you could do a great job. I actually think quite a few people on this site could .

I don't know if I have enough knowledge about all the important things going on there. I woulld love to do the research on it though. I think the DC site or mickey could make a great guide with combined efforts from all of us. Heck between all of our memebers, we practically live there. If we arent' 't there, we are planning to go there or reading about other's trips. We have more information than the guide books...lol

I should have just lit the money on fire....I am kicking myself now for having no control when it comes to WDW guides and information.
