Lion King on Broadway!

Hey guys! My aunt was able to get 4 free tickets to the lion king on broadway thru her work!! She called me alittle while ago informing me I will be going to see it at the broward center for performing arts on nov, 10!! Im so excited!!! :D . I was just at the Center for performing arts for a field trip today to see a spanish opera and I saw all the Lion King posters. I told my friends I wanted to go sooo badly, Now I am! lol. Have any of you gone before? Can you give me any insight about this show? I heard the opening scene of "the circle of life" gives people the goosebumps. I just wanna learn as much as I can before I go. Does the show mostly follow the movie?? This is a great way to get me thru my disney withdrawl period! lol
Joe:)
P.S. I added a special countdown for it, lol

I saw Lion King in July at the Pantagous Theater in Hollywood. IT WAS SPECTACULAR!! The opening scene was amazing & just thinking about the whole production gives me goosebumps!! The show also depends on how good the performers are. OUR RAFIKI WAS THE BEST. I also thought our adult Simba was great. But I didn't really like the guy who played Mufasa. We had great seats for the show (front, center, mezzanine). We really got the best overall view of the show. Orchastra seats might have had trouble seeing certain parts, but the animals do go down the isles of the orchastra section during the opening scene, so this could be worth it. I got a CD sampler of the show when I purchased the tickets, and I love to listen to it and visualize the show.

Lion King is leaving Hollywood at the end of the year to go to Chicago, so I'm hoping to go one more time before it leaves. If you like live theater, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

I saw the Lion King on Broadway in New York City. It was a great show, even better then Beauty and the Beast on Broadway (which by the way was also great). I think I enjoyed the opening seen the best and the overall customs. You'll have a great time, ENJOY!!!:)

Thanks guys for ur insight. My aunt dropped by today and gave me the free lion king on broadway shirt she recieved when she got the tickets. I have another question: What is the dress code for the broadway show? My aunt said that on fri. and sat. nights you have to dress really nice, but since we are seeing a matinee (sp?) I dont know if the same dress code applies for matinees. Anyone know? thanks agian.

The dress code for any broadway show is dress pants and either a sweater or a nice shirt. Really anything but jeans and a sweatshirt is fine. Overall, make sure whatever you wear is something that is comfortable enough that you will be able to sit in it for a length of time.

Have a great time. I would love to see the Broadway production. We actually have tickets to see Beauty and the Beast in NY in a few weeks. It's an early birthday present for my daughter.:)
