Which closed attraction upset you most?

I apologize if this has been done before, but I was wondering...has there ever been an attraction/ride/show that has been closed temporarily for refurbishment during one of your Disney visits that has really upset you?

Mine was in 2000, when I had my hopes set on riding POTC as soon as I got to MK. I walked up to the ride, my anticipation growing, only to have a CM tell me that it would be closed for almost a month. I have a picture of me standing in front of the ride pouting.

Anyone else have an experience like that?

Re: Which closed attraction upset you most?

I've had two.

Jungle Cruise and It's a small World.

Jungle Cruise is one of my favorites anyway and a trip to Disney just doesn't seem right without a million dolls singing a hypnotic song over and over and over.

Re: Which closed attraction upset you most?

I was very sad when on our first visit to WDW Thunder Mountain was closed. I was really looking forward to seeing how different is was from DL's. On the same trip, I thought my sister was going to have a fit when she found out that the Hall of Presidents was down for refurb. It was the one thing she was most excited about because she loves history and we don't have it here

Re: Which closed attraction upset you most?

Hmm...I don't think Hall of Presidents would upset me too much, but I'm not big on that type of thing. I understand how she felt though, when you have your heart set on something that you really don't get a chance to do very often, and then it doesn't pan out...oh well!

Oh my goodness! Big Thunder Mountain closed on my Honey Bear's first trip to WDW----you should see the pout on that face (and Honey Bear is more than 50) in the picture taken next to the refurb sign! LOL!! We're going back in the fall and I shudder to think.....

Lol...I'm sure it looks a lot like my picture in front of POTC. For Honey Bear's sake, I sure hope BTM is open when you go this fall!!

Re: Which closed attraction upset you most?

When we went last summer, IASW kind of disappointed us because we had been singing that dang song for weeks beforehand and on the drive there. Also we really wanted to see Bodywars and the making of me and that area of EP always seems to be closed when we are there. But the biggest disappointment was Alien Encounter...friends of ours had us so psyched to do this ride and come to find out it was shut down and being replaced by that Stitch trash (only trash because nobody seems to like it).

I wouldn't be too upset about Alien Encounter. In my opinion, it was just like Stitch, only with a mean ugly alien instead of Stitch. I wasn't impressed with either of them.

Re: Which closed attraction upset you most?

On our very first trip the Winnie the Pooh ride was closed for a week, the entire week we were there. VERY DISAPPOINTING. We are going back this June mainly because we missed IASW soooo much. I know, I know, I need my head examined. But it is just one of those things. Defies logic, really.

Alien Encounter was unique and made more sense storywise.

Add another person with a "sad face" picture! For me it's the canoes at Disneyland. I guess they're just seasonal. I love me some canoes.

Are there canoes at MK?

I don't think there are canoes at MK. My friend, who is a CM, participated in a CM canoe race a couple years ago, but I don't think they are available for guests.
