Composer of The Mickey Mouse Club Dies At Age 79

I just came across this story. Bolivian native, Jaime Mendoza-Nava, composer of the music for "The Mickey Mouse Club" and other Disney related projects recently passed away at age 79. At the age of 11 Mendoza-Nava was a child prodigy that had already organized, composed and performed a children's orchestra. After leaving South America, Mendoza-Nava traveled to New York to attend Julliard to study the piano. In 1953 Mendoza-Nava moved to Los Angeles, California where he soon went to work for Disney, and composed music for series such as "Zorro" and the "Mickey Mouse Club" Later on in life Mendoza-Nava went ahead and formed his own company which has now scored music for over 200 movies. All of us here at Magical Mountain wish the Mendoza-Nava family the best during this difficult time.
