AP expiration date confusion

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about the AP system. Here's the low-down: My mom bought me a Florida resident Seasonal Pass back in February when we were at Disney World for my birthday. I didn't use it until a trip I took with friends in May. I had to go to the ticket window and exchange the voucher for a ticket, at which time I upgraded my SP to an AP and just paid the difference. Now I had orginally thought the AP expired one year from the day you activated the ticket and used it for the first time, correct??

Here's the problem: I was looking at my ticket recently and it said my expiration date was 2/21/06, which is a year after my mom had originally bought my ticket. Did disney change the AP rules to having the ticket expire one year from the day you bought it? I swore my ticket wasn't suppose to expire until 5/22/06, a year after I activated and used it for the first time.
Is the policy different if you actually buy the AP in Disney World? My mom got the voucher at the MK ticket window, not a Disney store. Does any of this make since? I need to get on the phone with Disney and sort this out. Help please! lol

I was under the same assumption you are...that yours shouldn't expire until May. When you find out what happened let us know!!

If the original pass was bought at the MK ticket windows, it is activated at the time of purchase. When you upgraded, I am sure you paid the prorated price of an AP since you had the resident pass since Feb. I would say that your pass will expire in Feb.

Thats what I was afraid to hear.
What I don't understand is if my mom bought the voucher at the ticket window, why would it be activated? She didn't get the actual ticket for me becuase they needed my drivers license. Ay-yi-yi! Oh well, I'll just have to renew it a few months earlier. I'm still going to call Disney though and see what they can do after I explain my story. Thanks Jodilt!

Call and see. I read on Deb's site that you should check the date because sometimes the CM dates it wrong and puts the date the voucher was bought not activated. Good luck, Joe!!
