Peter Pan / Cathy Rigby
My husband and I took our two sons (2 and 4yrs old) to see Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan this past Wednesday.
I was a little nervous about how the two year old would do at a live show. He did great until the scene with Tiger Lily when she talks about the "other" lost boys stealing from her while Peter is gone. After that he still watched quite a bit but whenever some ominous music would start he would start walking back and forth between dh and myself. I didn't ever have to take him out though. The few times he started to get loud I pulled out my secret weapon mini-marshmellows. (a quiet, clean snack!) DS(4) loved the whole thing. His favorite part was the long drums number that takes place after Peter saves Tiger Lily and they go back and tell everyone they will all be friends now. After the show we went to the lobby to see Cathy Rigby signing autographs. The line was soooo long so we stood by the line until she came out so that we could just see her up close and then leave. As we were walking away I asked DS(4) if he didn't think it was neat to see Peter Pan up close like that. He said "where??" and I said "back there at the table signing autographs!" He said "Oh no Mommy, I want to see the real Peter Pan." I just said "well, maybe next time we're at Disney World we'll see him." All in all a fun evening. They were having a special for that evening "buy an adult ticket and get a kid's ticket free." It made my nervousness about DS(2) a worthwhile risk. Oh, also, DH and I both loved it!

Re: Peter Pan / Cathy Rigby
This show will be in my area in the fall and we had planned on seeing it. I am glad to get an opinion on it before we go. Glad you liked it. I can hardly wait for it to come here!!

Re: Peter Pan / Cathy Rigby
Yes, Cathy Rigby first did the Peter Pan role in 1974. Here is an article about her coming back to this role for a final tour:
http://www.usatoday.com/life/theater...02-rigby_x.htm I did love it. At the end when Peter comes back for Wendy it brought tears to my eyes. And another tearful moment was when Tinkerbell almost died and everyone had to try to clap to save her. I'm such a mush!
