Fishing for the boys

Can anyone tell me where my husband and three boys (ages 13, 11, and 8) can go fishing when we get to Disney World? I would like to send them if it is not too expensive. Thanks for all the great information!:)

Hi Disneymom,
I just so happen to have my Birnbaums book right here. It says for about $150.00 for up to 5 people can rent a boat complete with guide, gear, and refreshments for 2 hours. It also says they are fishing for large mouth bass weighing between 2-8lbs. Its all catch and release. You can make a reservation by calling 407-939-7529. The boats leave from the Contemperary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness, and Wilderness Lodge Marinas.

Also there are other trips from Downtown Disney, Port Orleans, and Yacht and Beach Club,

If you have the Birnbaum book pg. 210 has a lot of great info for you. (this years 2002 edition)

They also can rent poles at Fort Wilderness and fish in the canals

I hope they enjoy it!!
Lauren

There are two hour fishing excursions for $160 for up to 5 people at the Boardwalk, Fort Wilderness, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club and Downtown Disney.

I would suggest one of the resorts on the monorail, since they will fish on Seven Seas Lagoon right in front of the Magic Kingdom.

There is also an option to go to the family fishing at Port Orleans Riverside. It is $12.50 for a family for an hour, and includes pole rental and worms. Make sure you go before 3 PM though, it closes then.

Thank you all for the information. I think they will be so surprised to fish right in front of Magic Kingdom!

Disneymom...what a great idea! We love fishing at WDW!

There are so many different options, from fishing in the canals of Ft Wilderness to fishing on Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the Magic Kingdom. Our favorite is the 7 am Boardwalk guided fishing excursion. It cost $200 (included tip) for 2 hours, and we got to fish in World Showcase Lagoon. It was a truly memorable experience! DH even caught a fish. And, there is nothing like Epcot in the early morning for us Disney fanatics!
