x-mas at wdw
My family is planning to leave for WDW Dec. 18 and return home on Christmas night. We have been there for the Holidays before, but it's been quite a few years ago.(We took our son there for X-mas the first year he didn't believe in Santa,& he's now 17.)I remember that it started getting quite crowded a couple of days before X-mas day, but was wondering if anyone has experienced this time of year more recently. This will be his 11th trip to Disney World in 13 yrs. and we still get so excited about going!!! When I asked my 17yr. old what he wanted for X-mas this year, he said "just 1 more trip to Disney, while I'm still a kid at home.(he goes to college next year) You gotta LOVE it.

WDW510,
Hello and welcome to the boards. I can't give you info on how crowded and such. My daughter is 17 also. The last time we took her she was 4. She now has two brothers...8 and 5. I am planning on it being rather crowded. We are staying on site, so that way, we can go back to the hotel to get out of the mess. We will be getting there on the 21st staying till the 24th. Hope you all have a great time! Lisajl:)

Thanks lisajil, Looks like we will be there around the same time. My 17 year old son will probably be looking for your 17 yr. old daughter
Who knows, we may be standing in one of those LONG lines at the same time! Are you planning to do anything special while u are there? When we went for x-mas that 1 yr. we went over to THE Wilderness Lodge for our x-mas dinner. It was absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed sitting in the rockers by the HUGE fireplace. It made it seem a little more like x-mas. It was one of our highlights, & I would highly suggest it to anyone. We my try going there for x-mas eve. Well you have a great time too:) |

LOL!!
My daughter will be looking for your son, too! She is quite excited to be going again. We thought about staying away from the MK, but she said no...her brothers would like it too much. So, we are going to try and hit them all. It will be hard only being there for 3 nights, 4 days, but we will try to do the things that interest us. We are going to Cinderella's castle for lunch. I just want the boys to experience it. When our daughter was there, after she met Cindy, she fell asleep on her plate! Maybe I should take that photo with me!!! We are going to Cirque on the 22nd. That is part of her X-mas gift, it will just be the two of us. Should be a good night away for us girls! That is really the only special thing we will be doing. We will go see all the santas in Epcot-World showcase. I hope we all have wonderful weather. We are leaving later on the 24th for the drive to Savannah. My husband's neice lives there, and we are having a family X-mas with them. It will be nice to see her daughter...she is three and we have not met her yet. Hope it all goes well for you! If I see you in the crowd...I'll Holler! :D

Hi lisajl,,,,,,,,,, sounds like we should get our kids together! Your little ones will have soooo much fun. Ther's just something about seeing WDW thru the eyes of a child! I think maybe that's what makes it so magical! We have eaten at the castle few times, lots of fun. It was one of the few places you could see Peter Pan.
Go ahead and take the picture! Embaress her a little. That's what moms are for:p If you are driving, I hope you have good weather and a safe trip! |
