Probably decided against it to prevent visitors from taking out some of the attractions.

And I'm not necessarily saying stealing them...

...not necessarily...

'cause after seeing the sconces for sale at DisneyDirect, I probably would walk off with them... ;c)

I think it had to do with the fact that there is no real way to "control" the crowd, experience etc. Disney wanted it to flow. I think the original idea sounded neat because each goup would have a guide to walk them through...Oh well...I love the ride the way it is

I once read that Walt was fired from one of his first jobs at a newspaper because he "lacked imagination".

The kids and I watched a show last night about WDW and it said the aquarium at the Living Seas takes up more space than Spaceship Earth.

Here's one more I found
The first Mickey Mouse cartoon produced was "Plane Crazy" though "Steamboat Willie" was the first released.

Re: disney useless trivia

here is some more useless trivia for you guys, straight from the disney newsletter:

Do any of the Disney films have cameos by Disney family members?

Linda D., Missoula, MT

Actually there are a few. Sharon Disney appears briefly in "Johnny Tremain"; she and her sister, Diane, appear on television in "One Hour in Wonderland"; and Diane's baby son, Walter, appears in "Son of Flubber" (in a TV commercial).

Here's more! Flora was modeled after the actress who played "Aunt Bea" on "The Andy Griffith Show".

Re: disney useless trivia

useless trivia:

Did Walt originally plan for there to be so many parks at Walt Disney World? What was his vision for that property?

Charmaine T., Mobile, AL

Walt's initial plan was for only a Magic Kingdom and Epcot, but because of his foresight in acquiring so much land, the company was able to add other parks that he had not considered.

Re: disney useless trivia

here's one more piece of useless trivia:

Which of these attractions was open when Disneyland debuted: Pirates of the Caribbean, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, or Peter Pan's Flight?

Peter Pan's Flight is the only one of the three that was a part of Disneyland's Opening Day.

Re: disney useless trivia

Being a Gone With the Wind Fan as well as a Disney Nut, I loved reading one of the questions in the Parade magazine in this morning's paper. Remember the little girl that played Bonnie Blue Butler in GWTW? Well, turns out she was the voice of young Faline in "Bambi." Those 2 things are just about all she ever did...acting-wise that is.
