Hi, Folks!

I feel as though it has been ages since I logged on to DC. I missed you!

I have been wicked busy both at work (Due to our budget crisis, the University has lost many employees and faculty; as a result, there is much more work to be done by fewer people.) and at home.

I have spent some of my limited free time searching for lower air fares so that I can begin to look forward to my next Disney vacation, but the fares from Boston have been sky high. :( I sure hope that my persistence pays off in the not too distant future!

Over the weekend, I am hoping to review many of the posts I have missed (Thanks to Mickey's recaps that is especially easy to do!) I hope that all is well with you and, while I am here, I might as well wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving , too.

Hi lopo.

It seems the doing more work with less people theme is a recurring one. I just saw a TV special about this recently. You know things must be bad, I work for the Department of Defense and it's even happening there! (Geez no more sitting around drinking coffee all day :p )

If you're the gambling type, it seems like recently the longer you wait before you buy your tickets the better deal you can get. That being said, we bought our tickets months before our trip because we were too chicken, but discovered we could have saved I think about $60-$70/ticket if we would have waited.

Believe me, mmouse671, I know that it is tough all over right now: I am a career resource librarian and I see lots of folks looking for non-existent jobs and people are being laid off all around me, too. (I know that being laid off is horrible, but I can only imagaine that the bad feelings associated with it are multiplied at this time of year.) The one thing I know is that these circumstances are cyclical so better days are coming.

As a government employee, sometimes I am faced with angry taxpayers alleging that state workers stand around drinking coffee all day. :dazed and

How bizarre.

Anyway, since I am not in a hurry (well, in my heart I am but, in reality, I'm not) to book another trip to WDW, I will continue to monitor the airfares to find some that I can afford. I do believe that some good ones will come along again (probably after the holidays or, at the latest, in the spring.)
