I just picked up $350.00 DD on friday at my local Disney Store. I buy them for each day too! Just something I like to do - that is our spending money for the day! Of course, if it is all gone and I find something I just can't live without I have my debt card lol. They have never put a cap on the amount I buy at the Disney store. I have purchased all that they had before, but by now they all know me, they know when I am leaving - store manager went early Oct. last year right before us and is doing it again this year. We spend more time talking Disney with the staff than shopping when we go.

Just to follow up here:

I called Disney Merchandising, spoke with CM Kathy and asked about the Shopping and Dining Cards. They are available for any amount between $5 and $1500 (if you wanted one for $377 that is just fine). There is a $6.95 shipping fee, and it takes about 1 week for it to arrive. YOU MUST SIGN FOR IT (certified mail, afterall, it's cash). It can be sent FedEx over night for an additional cost, and you also must sign for this.

I also asked about where it is accecpted (the info at the Intercot link makes it seem limited, esp in th edining area), but CM Kathy told me basiclly anywhere there was a cash register you may use it within the World (parks and resorts). I searched disneyworld.com for info, but couldn't find any Maybe because they are new?

I know you said you'd try for Disney Dollars first, Dana and FWIW, my store said they only limit when they are low, and if it's going to be large amount (over $500 she said) giving the store manager a heads up couldn't hurt.

I went yesterday and purchased $700.00 for my mom and $500.00 for myself and had no problem. We purchased that much because we had been counting on using our Disney Credit Card by the first Disney CC company but they are cancelling them on October 1 while we are there! They only have 1's, 5's and 10's.

I dont understand what the big deal is about that, I mean, isn't a sale, A SALE???? By limiting how much they sell they are like turning $$ away!

What are the advantages of purchaseing Disney Dollars? if you losethem, it is the same as losing cash, correct? What is the up side?
