What was your first Disney toy?

I was thinking the other day about the first Disney toy I can remember owning as a small child. It was a plastic Eeoyre, with a tail that came off. I was very young and remember it clear as a bell. I'd cry when I pulled the tail off, and my oldest brother Michael would put it back on for me . I kept it on the windowsill above my bed, and would sleep with it at night.

Do you remember your first Disney toy? What was it?

I had a yellow and orange "piano". You wound the little plastic handle on the side, and Donald Duck would pop out of the top. It was so cute! I wish I still had it!

I will have to put my thinking cap on for my own answer, but I can come up with a ton for BDavis932...but I can't remember her very 1st one. Let's see what she says.

Re: What was your first Disney toy?

A Minnie Mouse plush that my parents brought back from Disney World when I was 2. It's very similar to the Mickey in my profile picture; they were from the same era.

I'm not sure if it's really a toy, but, I had Disney records I would play relentlessly. I remember being around 4.

My first was a Donald Duck handpuppet. I wish I still had it - I could go on Antiques Road Show and we had this record set of Johnny Appleseed which came with a book. I loved that.

Your story reminded me of something funny we saw at Fantasmic one year. These people sat in front of us with their little girl, who had a brand-new stuffed Eeyore. Her mom pulled it out of the bag for her and she was playing with it and of course, pulled off his tail. Well, obviously, her parents didn't know Eeyore's tail is suppose to come off. They were so mad! They kept saying - $35.00 and the tail falls off! They were going to return it, they were going to complain... finally I leaned over and explained that Eeyore's tail was suppose to come off. We all had a good laugh.

Re: What was your first Disney toy?

Wellll...
It was 1955 - my first Christmas - and my parents gave me a tin, wind-up Donald Duck, about 7 or 8 inches tall. Donald played a drum and bobbed his head.

And BTW: I STILL HAVE IT.

Sadly, it doesn't work now, but it occupies a special spot on a shelf in our den.

You had a VIEWMASTER. I had one too, the Disney discs were neat - Donald, Mickey and the gang in 3D. It didn't take much to amaze us back then - lol...

Re: What was your first Disney toy?

I still have our ViewMaster along with a slew of Disney disks. We found it just the other day while cleaning out the basement! The first thing I can remeber was a pair of ears, what I cannot remember is if they came from one of my cousins going to Disneyland or if my mother ordered it from the Mickey Mouse Club

Mickey Mouse: Hi, Mouseketeers!
Mouseketeers: Hi, Mickey!
Mickey Mouse: Got big doings this week. Adventure, fun, music, cartoons, news. Everybody ready?
Mouseketeers: Ready!
Mickey Mouse: Then on with the show!

Mine was a Mickey Mouse puppet. It was a plastic Mickey head and a cloth body with a small squeaker inside at the neck. I wish I still had it!

I loved the Mouseketeers! The original ones - tap dancing their little hearts out! lol. I just saw a DVD at Walmart of a week of the original shows - Special Guest Day, Talent Round-up. I'm so tempted to get it.
