Home Holiday Decorating

Since the holidays are upon us, I was wondering. How do you plan on adding that "Disney Touch" to your home this season?

So far, I've set out my Disney Christmas snowglobes and decorated the stormglass of my side entrance door with Pooh holiday/winterscenes decals. Decorating in one day is impossible for us. :laugh :)

Our Christmas Tree is covered in two types of decorations. The ones our kids made and disney related ones. The memories from our ornaments give us a "warm" feeling reminding us of how much our kids have grown and all the wonderful times we've had at Disney World!

We also do Mickey decals in the side lights of our front door, to remind all of our visitors that we are crazy about Disney! (Like we'd ever let them forget about that!)

I wish I could find some of the decorations for the yard like they have at the Osborne Spectacle of Lights. I love those Mickey Mouse head outlines with different color lights. Maybe I could talk hubby in to making me some! I don't think it would be too hard. Just got to find the time....!

Everyone up North, send some snow our way......or at least some really cold weather for Christmas! Living "deep in the heart of Texas" you never know if you'll have a 90š or 40š Christmas.

disney tree

We have a mickey and minnie yard ornaments. ..

We finally gave in and got a tree just for our disney ornaments. They were not being displayed to their full potential next to all of those star wars ornaments my kids get every year! :p

We also got those moving mickey and minnie that the disney store carried many, many years ago. They still work!

a hint: I go shopping the day after christmas at our local hallmark store. They put the ornaments on half price, so I can get any disney ones that I did not fall in love with at first sight.

We have many Disney related ornaments on our tree (mostly tigger, because he is my favorite) and a mickey and minnie tree skirt. We also have a lot of the moving and singing character that they have every year. The more expensive items, such as the signing pooh, tigger and piglet on the sleigh, I get after christmas in the clearance catalog that they send out. Hey, why spend $40 when you can get them for $20 or less after the holiday!!:)

My bosses (husband & wife) gave me my christmas present early today!! They wanted me to enjoy it over the holiday season! They are so nice!

They gave me my first piece of the new Disney snow villages. I got Mickeys house. It is so cute and it lights up inside and has christmas lights around the house that light up too!!

Maybe when I get my Christmas bonus I will buy some more! I would like to get Minnies house this year and Chip and Dales Tree house!!

When decorating, don't forget the stockings. We have so many stockings with the characters, I feel like I could have a store, the sad part, I love everyone of them. If there is a Kohls department store near your area, check them out, they had tons of Disney Items on sale.

Happy shopping and decorating:laugh

Sure it counts. I can't wait to go back to Days of Christmas. Last time we went, I was so tempted to buy the Monorail set for under the tree. We just added a new christmas snowglobe to our collection and took advantage of the 50% off sale on Christmas items at the DS. Now we'll have the chesire cat smiling at us from our tree.:)

Amethyst, you just gave me an awesome reason for needing to buy the monorail set for my son - he's 12 and asked for it, but I asked him if he wasn't getting a little too old for it (his train set sits lonely in his closet...)

We just hung our set of mickey icon saphire blue ornaments... I love them so much I want to get more... hehehee!

We hung a red/white/blue Santa hat Mickey in the center of our outside display, along with a Disney Christmas flag, white icycle lights, red rope lights, and a blue tree.

We have a ton of Disney and WDW ornaments on our tree from all of our past trips.
Does anyone have the monorail going around their Xmas tree? I was tempted to buy it to use for just that purpose ... until I realized it only ran on batteries. Figured I'd be going through batteries like water. Too bad they don't make a model you can plug in. :nothing:
