Well, that was kind of boring. Nothing of interest at all. :

Actually, I told Lil' in the middle of the show, "Don't ask me how I know, but Desmond is the guy in the hatch."

I'm really annoyed. We didn't find out anything.

But I always knew that Walt could Shine. Shannon must have the Shine too since Walt is communicating with her. That's why he gave her his dog.

I said that too!!!!! Not sure why... but it made sense.

And I agree, kinda boring. Although the sighting of Walt made me jump - the way he was standing made it look like he was hanging. Anyone got any ideas of the connection between the 'others', Desmond, and Walt returning?

I was kidding about it being boring. I thought it was a great episode. As it opened, I thought they were introducing a new character, and I was annoyed by that. Then the "boom" came, and I realized he was in the hatch.

The fact that the inside of the hatch saying "Quarantine" ties in with Danielle's claims that the others became infected.

What I want to know is how long ago did Jack save Sarah? I mean, how long could Desmond have been in the hatch?

Also, Desmond said he would see Jack in another life. Coincidence????

Anyone else notice the magnets? Think the magnetic pull has something to do w/the compasses being off? Could it be strong enough to pull a plane off course and down?

And how come no one else is chiming in on my theory of Walt having the Shine?????

Oh, and the guys on the other boat were definitely "others". Why else would a bunch of white fisherman be so close to a Polynesian Island? They must have been out looking for the raft. They also must have wanted Walt because he's a kid, just like they wanted the baby.

Anyway, last seasons finally confirmed what you typed. Danielle stole the baby because the voices said they wanted "the boy." Seems pretty obvious they were talking about Walt. Besides, what kind of fishermen would be carrying guns?

Didn't you ever see The Shining with Jack Nicholson? Remember his kid had "the Shine", and Mr. Halloran did too? I think that's what's going on with Walt and maybe Shannon, since he's communicating with her.

It's been 20+ years since I saw the shining. I was probably 15yo. Can you explain further?

In the Shining, the little boy Danny could sense things, weird things happened, essentially just like Walt. So that's when I figured JJ Abrams had a thing for Kubrick movies.

Then when he showed up in front of Shannon, I realized that it's exactly like when Jack starts going nutty in The Shining, and Danny projects a HELP!!!! message to Mr. Halloran to come and save him, because Danny knows that Halloran "shines" too.

Just like Walt is apparently doing with Shannon.

Remember Jack doesn't shine, but saw his dad on the island.
