[PhantomBantam]

Team Bantam will be going to Fort Wilderness soon. And for those who may have been following along, there has been a tumultuous up-crow concerning my next of fowl-kin a pickin' on Ol' Phantom's breadpan.

Well, the worries are over. Granddad and Grandma Bantam cannot make the trip, and neither can Mrs. Bantam's sister's family.

You see, a wedding, prolly a shotgun type, is hapnin' in the Low Country during our expected period of Freerangin' with the round eared rodent. There was to be a general blow off of the matrimonial stomp festivatin' in lieu of the trip until the Sister of Mrs. Bantam got promoted to the head chief in charge of the matrimonial maid parade.

Now between you and me, I don't understand such short notice field promotions outside a war or a really good parking spot when its raining... but if the friendship can shift from "skip it" to, "I beez the anchor leg in the party" can change at the last moment... then so be it.

I'm certainly not going to even try to change her mind. Especially since the less than tacky request of chicksittin' privileges being offer to me under the circumstances of; "take my hawk in chicken clothing (nephew) with you to DW and bring him back".... Folks, let me tell ya that request was squashed flatter than a slow possum tryin' to cross I-95 by no other than the "It'll be like a Family reunion" Mrs. Phantom Bantam. I can feel my chest just a pounding with spousal pride.

Then as if a a burst of miraculous light had fallen on my side of the hen house, the Grand Bantams stepped in after much debate to be the chick watchers for the holiday:!:

Yall, please don't think poorly of my character that I rejoice in the change of luck that crash landed in the coop before me. But I did want it to be a bit more my vacation than everybody else's. Its my Chick's first trip and I want it to be 3...Its a magic number.

My hubby was ecstatic when sister decided she wasn't going because of her up coming matrimonies!! (Wanted to save the money) My parents are paying for trip and wedding and this will be the first time she ever cared!!! Anyway, so he understands!

I think what Phantom is trying to say (I'm not sure if it is the southern drawl or pig latin:dazed ) is this: his vacation went from being a whole herd to just the most important few.
