Trip report 12/1 - 12/6/02

The best made plans don't always work out, but in this case they worked out even better than I expected. I have to believe that the help in planning this vacation that I received from Disney Central made the difference.

We were meeting my 29 year old daughter who had not been to WDW in 10 years and her SO who had (gasp!) never been to WDW. The pressure was on. I wanted it to be the best vacation that they ever had.

We used Tiffany Town Car for transportation between MCO and BCV and it was great! (Thanks Disney Central)Made a brief stop for some things that Goodings could not deliver on the way.

Made a schedule for the parks based on feedback from DC and it worked beautifully. AK on Monday and only had to fast pass Dinosaur. MK on Tuesday. Arrived around 9:15 and walked on to Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder and Haunted Mansion. Only had to fast pass Space Mountain and during that time DD and SO walked on to Buzz Lightyear and into Alien Encounter. MGM on Wednesday. Had fast pass TOT but walked on to R&R and into Great Movie ride during the wait. I spent the afternoon at Stormalong Bay riding the water slide while DD and SO did the balance of MGM including Fantasmic and Osborne Light show. Thursday and several evenings at EPCOT.
Walked on to everything but Test Track where we used fast pass.

Weather was perfect for the parks with the exception of a few showers on Thursday, but not enough to cause problems. It couldn't have been much better. I don't want to ramble, so I'll cover some other areas in other posts.

I think they saw even more than I had hoped in the time we had without feeling rushed and still had time to enjoy the BCV and some great meals. More details to come.

Graybill...Terrific Trip Report!!

Short, To the Point, and Packed with Great Information!

In my opinion, the first week of December is the best time to visit! I'm so glad that your daughter enjoyed herself. :)

I guess I can now refer to my DD's SO as her DSO.
He was just blown away by the whole Disney experience and has the potential to be a first class Disney Fanatic, with proper coaching of course.
They both loved everything but one attraction really got their attention. She is working on her PH D in Neuroscience and he on his PH D in Neuropsychology so, needless to say, Cranium Command was a real hit!
I'm looking forward to many more magical trips with them.

I'm so excited for you Graybill. I have a 17 year old DD who still thinks all the boys she knows aren't worth her time. But my DH & I both hope & pray that she marries someone with a love of Disney so we can keep going with her & her DH & any and all future grandkids. We keep seeing these grandparents at WDW with the grandkids & go "I hope that's us one day!":)

I love going to Disney with a "first timer." Our last trip we went with 7 of them! :)

My wife was not a big Disney fan when we first met, but I was able to convert her. Now she is almost a bigger fanatic than me. I have created a MONSTER. (A good one though. Like Sulley or Mike)

Great report! It's good to know that it was warm enought to swim. We'll be going again the first week of Dec. 2003 and I was wondering if we'd be able to swim at the resort. Look forward to reading your other reports.
