What to do? What to do?
We are going down after Christmas to the Capital One Bowl game. We have 2 days for Disney activities. We were there this Aug. and did all 4 parks. I have never seen the parks decorated for Christmas. Which parks are the prettiest? which are the least crowded? Where should we go? We have thought about Crique du Soleil. I have seen their Alegria performance and it was indescribable. Any suggestions?

Disney-MGM is always decorated very nicely (plus they have the Osbourne Family Lights in the area that is made to look like Manhattan).
Hard to choose ... as Magic Kingdom is decked out for the holidays ... and EPCOT has decorations too. I don't recall Animal Kingdom having anything outstanding in past years. I think they may all be equally as crowded since it's holiday time. Actually anywhere you go on Disney property (including all the resorts) you will see holiday lights and decorations. Have fun. :)

MGM is beautiful and it snows every night on New York Street and where they have the Osborne Family Lights. I know it used to snow in the Magic Kingdom, too, but I am not sure if they still do that every night there. EPCOT is just as nice. So, you can't go wrong, especially at night. :)

I planned the timing of our trip in case my Texas Aggies got to go to the tangerine bowl--oh well. Congrats on your getting to go then!
MGM is a must in my opinion. The osborne lights are fabulous! MK decorated is great, and Epcot at night--wow. International gateway. . . . I am not sure about the decorations at AK. Is there any way you could park hop? I know that once you see the osborne lights at mgm, just catch the boat to epcot. Trying to get the most disney for the buck! :D |

AK has a tree outside this year ... and that's all I noticed!! Main Street at the Magic Kingdom is AWESOME when you are coming from the Castle. We had dinner there, and then leaving (after the park had closed) was probably the most magical moment of the trip. It was really really pretty. I took about 20 pictures, lol!! I know everyone raves about Epcot, but... The gateway behind Spaceship Earth IS nice. I didn't notice much in the countries in a quick walk-by though. So I'd pic MGM as the second park. We didn't stay for the snow this year, but it was a lot of fun last year. I have yet to see the Osborne lights (I know, I'm a horrible person ;) ), but everyone seems to rave about them. Plus, there's not as much walking as there is at Epcot, lol! :) If you have extra time -- especially during the day as all these places look best after dark -- check out some of the hotels. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is as spectacular as it's cracked up to be (and that's even without the Christmas decorations). It made the Grand Floridan, which was the one I was really looking forward to, look pretty ho-hum. But they have a several-story-high tree as well. And a life-size gingerbread house! Didn't notice much of anything Christmas-y at the Contemporary or Poly, so I'd give those a miss. We weren't at any other hotels, so I don't know how the others measure up.

:D Hi,
As Florida residents we have been to see all the parks in the last few weeks. The decorations are beautiful all over even Animal Kingdom. I recommend that you spend the morning at Animal Kingdom and the afternoon past dusk at MGM to see Fantasmic and then the Osborne Family Lights, which are simply awesome. There is usaully time to see the lights after Fantasmic. The next day go to the Magic Kingdom during the day and then hop over to Epcot in the evening to see the Candlelight Professional and of course the parade and the spectular fireworks at 9 or 9:30. As another note: It is cooler down here this season then it was last year at this time. Come prepared to buy some fabulous Disney sweatshirts, if you don't prepare for cold weather. It is 63 degrees at 4:47 pm today and may dip even cooler this evening. In any case have a great time! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ![]()

The most Disney for your buck???
What could be more festive than the resorts!!! Why not spend the day resort hopping...you can use Disney transportation and everything. Check out the different themed holidays at the different resorts and look at the intricate gingerbread houses at each. The most beautiful and romantic of all is the Wilderness Lodge. And what would a holiday be without shopping? Wind up the day at Downtown Disney. (All for free!)

We went the first 2 weeks of December in 2000. What a beautiful time to visit!! Just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth.
If you can ONLY choose 2 parks, I would choose #1) MGM, because of the Osborne Specticle of Lights. It is wonderful!! #2) Magic Kingdom, because it is so BEAUTIFUL. I would then take the monorail around EPCOT so you can get a nice overview of their decorations. The gateway looks so pretty!! If you can park hop, I would take the advice of Richard. That way, you cover all the parks, and don't miss the decorations. ;) {By the way....we need a "smiley" with a Santa hat!!}
