So my wife and I took our daughter to a mall we don;t frequent to often - Its the more corwded and busy mall but they have a kick butt Disney Store. My wiufe said they were redoing the store so I was kinda excited about shopping at Victorias secret AND going to the Disney Store.

WOW what a piece of junk!!!!! They took our old 2 storefront Dinsey store and broke it down to one storefront. HALF THE FLIPPN SIZE!!!!!!!!!!! The place gets a line around the whole store at XMAs as it was why cut it down!?!!? The new theming and decor sucks and the selection is awful.

I know Disney sold rights to the Disney Stores to someone else and their name escapes me but how in gods green earth do you cutback a satisfying dosage of Disney. THE STORE WAS FOREVER CROWDED!!! Now they've kept 1/2 the bulky displays and crammed them into a room half the size. You can't manuever through the store without tripping over someone!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! And its not a temporary fix either they have a big Mouse ears entry way and put a Build-A-Bear where the other half of Disney was!!! Which is a good store for kids BUT no need to . . .ah you get my point.

I bet it was that dasterdly Mary Poppins!

Yeah, I feel the same way about the one near us. It's now tiny, ugly, and a lot of times the merch they have is not even the nice stuff. I think they sold it to the "Children's Place." too bad. I still stop in every once in awhile but it's actually pretty depressing.

My local disney store has always been small and crammed. All children't clothes with just a little bit of adult ones. I can't imagine what the new version of this store is going to look like. The children's place is the one who bought the chain. I haven't been to the new one yet and am not even sure if it's open for business. I can't be any more disappointed in this version cause the last one wasn't anything to get excited about either.

Our disney store is steadily going downhill. the last time I was there it was filled with poor quality plastic toys and some overpriced t-shirts, and a few stuffed toys. Not much variety and not many bargains.I mostly shop online at disneyshopping.com now, especially for their clearance items.

Same here. Our closest Disney was so bad before it closed but I still missed it after it was gone. We have another store we go to and it is pretty new and seems to be a little less junky.

A couple weeks ago we took a day trip to 5 Disney stores around the area (RI & CT). Most of them were very disappointing and a couple of them were down right horrible and had NO ADULT CLOTHES, NOT EVEN TSHIRTS! We both wear nothing but Disney shirts and coats and are finding the selection horrible, every store was jam packed and it seemed that allot of people had the same complaints. Even the online Disney direct has very little in the adult clothing section. We can't wait till December so we can stock up on some new Disney duds.

I think our Disney Store here is Orlando at the Florida Mall is just fine. I know what you mean about having a small crowded one, where I used to live had one like that. If I am shopping for Disney clothes I will go to the Disney Store in the mall because they have better deals. I sometimes drag my MIL along because my FIL works at Disney World and she can use his discount and then I can save 35% off my purchase (insert happy dance here). If I am looking for a toy or stuffed animal I will go to DTD and go to World of Disney or Once upon a Toy.

Our Disney store, so far, is still OK. But we can always take a minivacation and go into NYC for a little World of Disney visit. If you can get to that store, it will make you feel young again!!!!!!!

Consider yourself lucky! We had three of them, they are all gone. The closest one is over 400 miles away. I might as well drive to Disneyland.

Mickey, I know exactly how that feels! I lived in Germany for 3 years and all I had was the Disney Catalog!

I was hopeful with some of the changes I saw in our local DS after the transfer of ownership.

However, recently selection has bottomed out. There's nothing for adults to buy/wear.

And the big television screen on the back wall has had a panel out for months. I guess I should expect it to close soon.

What I don't get is the POOR management of these stores. All Disney had to do was provide a selection of clothes, toys, and knick knacks that appealed to kids & adults at a REASONABLE price (compared to other mall stores). Sell trading pins, business casual clothing, home decor (lamps & etc). This would have made them competitive and IMO one of the top non-department store in any mall.

Our new "rehabed" store is the same size, but definatley not the same. My DW was a casual Castmember for the holiday season when it was owned by Disney and the perks were great - discounts all over the world. In talking to her friend with the new owners - no discount, just a couple of 1 day passes a year a believe.
Luckily when we need our Disney fix, we go to World of Disney in NYC, just a short hour away - we are lucky!
