Mr. Potato Head for Halloween

Not sure if this has been mentioned...

At Target tonight I picked up a Mr. Potato Head box. It was sitting in a big pile of candy so I know it didn't belong there. At first I thought it was a Halloween costume for MPH and it reminded me of the one I still have not got out for the boys that I bought at Once Upon a Toy last January! I headed to the toy dept to see if they had other choices and did not see any so I asked someone where they were displayed. While they were checking on it I examined the box closer. It is actually MPH pieces to decorate a pumpkin! This one was to make a pumpkin you supplied be dressed as a pirate for halloween. The person came back and told me he thought they were out but that they had been with all the Halloween costumes and decorations not the toys. I headed back to the Halloween aisles and found one last box and this one was to dress up your pumpkin as a vampire.

I can't wait to see how well they work. I am so glad I won't be carving a pumpkin this year too!

Oh and the cost was 4.99 apiece.

I'm also wondering if just regular MPH parts would work for this or if once I get it opened I will find that these are different in some way.

Anyone used these before?

Re: Mr. Potato Head for Halloween

I bought a set of these at a grocery store near me but they were not MPH. They were generic Halloween noses, eyes, mouths, etc. but the ends that you push into the pumpkin reminded me of MPH. Me son loved it, though. I am at Target at least twice a week and have never seen the MPH version of this or I would have scarfed them up!!! They sound really cute! I hope you and your family enjoy decorating your pumpkins!!

Re: Mr. Potato Head for Halloween

Okay, these are so easy and mess free, we love them!

We kind of positioned where we wanted the pieces to go and made a small indentation on the skin of the pumpkin without actually piercing it. We then used a screwdriver to pierce the skin so that the kids would be able to easily insert the pieces.

Re: Mr. Potato Head for Halloween

Oh, by the way, the parts do look bigger. I haven't actually tried them on the regular MPH to know for sure. My husband brought up the point that you could probably use regular MPH parts on the mini pumpkins so next year we might do some of those too.

I looked on ebay and saw item 6009945819 which is for a kit to make a princess so I know that was available too. I'm not sure if there were any others.

Also, while searching on ebay I came across item 5993286566 which had a lot of character themed parts up for bid. I don't remember seeing all these at Once Upon a Toy last month. It has parts to make Donald, Goofy, Tink, Ariel, Daisy and even Cinderella's slipper! If all these are available now I might have to fill two boxes on my next trip!
