WDW maps

Does anyone know of a way for me to get my hands on WDW maps? I know when you get there you can pick them up, but I'd like to have maps now to better plan out our vacation. Thanks.

While it isn't exactly like the park maps you get, it isn't bad. Disney has some PDF maps on their site:

WDW Maps

Hopefully we will have some up in the Maps section of DisneyCentral, as soon as I can find some good ones. I may just have to scan the maps I picked up last week.

If you go to http://www.disney.com then you can get the map from the site also.

At first it started very small as most dreams do.
A twinkle in an eye, the thrill of something new.
But then the dream began to grow and come alive.
Touching every one of us, lighting up the sky.
We share a magic day, we share enchanted nights
It's a neverending story and together we all find
It's been a part of me, it's been a part of you.
A part of growing up together
Sharing a dream come true.

What a great question! I have tried and tried to have WDW send maps to my home....but to no avail (sp?)!

It really stinks, too. The online maps are not the same quality as the park maps...and they add new stuff all the time! Who can keep up?

Yeah Trish I have had folks ask to be sent maps and also brochures for the vacations that they booked so they can plan out their wishes and their recreation and stuff like that. I have gone round and round with Guest Services and they will not budge on sending the maps or any literature. I'm not sure if it's a potential liability thing to send something in "writing" and then have the package components "change without notice" or that it would open a proverbial floodgate but this is one thing that so far I have not seen any exceptions made on.

Jennly, I was told that it's because the maps (the ones handed out in the parks) are all ready at maximum print capacity and there just aren't enough marketing dollars to produce that freebie. Basically, maps don't make people salivate to go (although I would argue that point). They would rather spend marketing dollars targeted specifically on glossies to help people make their decision to get to the world, and (what I found surprising) rely on "third parties" to help promote on-site scheduling (like Disney Central, for instance)

I wonder if this is true... This was from a CM in AP Guest Relations, and as everything Disney, I'm sure subject to change... LOLOL!

I agree Trish especially since I have personally seen boxes and boxes of those pretty glossy maps thrown out at the end of each month because they were not outdated with park hours/showtimes and such

Jennly, I would LOVE to hear what you could find out about that. I've been in sales/marketing for a long time, and although the reasoning is very plausible for a small company, it makes my sirens go off for a larger one. I half believe her. It's a huge effort to set up a new process like that, but it's also a huge benefit to incoming tourists.

I collect wdw maps! Whenever I go to wdw I make sure I pack 2 guide maps from every park. 1 is more of a souvineer, becuase it has the date of the week i was there, and the other is for me to cut up and use in collages (sp?) and other stuff. My local disney store carrys brochures of each park that has a map of the parks in them. Maybe you should check that out!
Joe:)
