I will not be going in Feb anymore!!!!!

Most of you have know I was going to WDW in Feb 06. Last week I had to can my trip.
My oldest DD7 needs to get surgery at the end of the year and the insurance is an 80/20 deal. I thought about what I was going to do for the whole week and I couldnt imagine what I shall do. My co payment is around $5000.00 so I figure to call WDW and can my trip. That would basically make up the $$. So no longer going at this time..
I am sorry to any of you that I promised post cards. I will make it up next time I am able to go.
If anyone is wondering what kind of surgery nothing major..
Megan was born with clef lip and pallet. She is 90% done with that but as she gets older she may need to have it corrected one more time. but every so many years she needs to get tubes in her ears. She has really bad ear infections that could make her go deaf if we dont get the tubes..
My DH did a job switch over the summer and just found out that the insurance will only pay 80/20 for pre-ex cases..

Awww tink, I am so sorry to hear, I know it's frustrating. A Coworker's son has the SAME THING, he's gotten the tubes already twice and he is only 4. Take care of your daughter, WDW isn't going anywhere, it will be there when the time is right! And think about it this way; when you are able to come EE will be up and ready, and there will probably be soo many more exciting changes.

PS: If you talk to the dr. and or hospital you may be able to get them to accept your insurance as payment in full. They do this all the time and it is definitely worth a few phone calls. My 2 youngest daughters both had tubes put tubes in the ears (one of them twice,because they fell out as she grew) The procedure is a rather simple one. Middle DD also had adenoids and tonsils removed 2 years ago, this one was a little tougher.

Yes, definately talk to the hospital's billing department. I worked in a hospital for 9 years and know that they often will accept a reduced payment - you just have to set it up in advance. You may be able to spread your payments out through a long period of time so you won't have to do one lump sum. Even if this dosen't get you to WDW it still may help a bit. Good Luck to you and your little girl. Even though the surgery isn't considered risky it is still a big deal in your family and of great concern I'm sure. Take care and let us know what happens

Thank you all!!!!!!! I have spoke to the billing department and they are willing to make a payment plan but still require most of our trip $$$. I know WDW will be there always (I hope) so I will have to start over and start saving..

Tubes really can help kids that get infections all the time, I am glad they work well for her.

I know about having to cancel a trip, I had to cancel my Feb trip as well

We'll make it one day (October, maybe), and you will too.
