This past September when they offered free dining plan! But if you missed it, Value season is when room rates are the lowest.

Value Season varies slightly from resort to resort, but if you're looking to go soon, it covers all of January and most of February, a great time to go in terms of prices an crowd levels. The downside is that parks have shorter operating hours, and the weather can be unpredictable. But with Extra Magic Hours for resort guests and a little bit of luck with the weather, it's the perfect time to go.

I would agree with January. Airfares are cheaper, resort rates are lower, crowds are down...Great time to go!

Definately January. The weather is still nice, there is little rainfall, and far fewer crowds. It's a great time to go!

Well that settles it!! If Erin picks January, January it is.

In case no one has noticed, I'm Erin's fan.

Thanks you guys for the advice. January was when I was wanting to go so that works out great. It won't be until 2006 but I like to plan early!

Wait a minute, I said the wrong year you guys. I mean January of 2007. I keep forgetting that next year is 2006 (don't ask) I wish it was 2006. That was wishful thinking. Oh well hopefully next year will fly by!

Re: When is the most budget friendly time to go?

If you check Disney's website, they list the various "value seasons." Value Seasons are my prefered time to go. The rates are lower because fewer people are taking vacations during those times. This translates into lesser crowds. Yes, park hours are shorter, but you rarely wait more than 20 minutes for a ride, and often rides are "walk on."

January is one of my favorite months to go. Whether is if-y, but even 50 in Florida is better than the 30's & snow I leave behind!

I hear January is great, too! Although I have never been. My ABSOLUTE favorite time to go is the first week in December. 2 years ago, there were NO crowds! Last year, it was definitely more crowded. But I still love it at that time. You can't beat Disney all decked out for the holidays.

Re: When is the most budget friendly time to go?

I like going anytime!!! We usually go in August which is hot, hot, hot but my girls love the pools and waterparks so that is okay with them. Last year and this year we are going in January. I like the mild weather, but it isn't always warm enough to swim and the hours at the parks are shorter. Any day at disney is better than being back at home!
