Best type of wallet/purse?

From all of those experienced Disney travelers what is the best way to transport a resort key, 7 day with park hopper pass, disney dollars, credit cards and cash from park to park so as not to lose them. Do you think those convention holders would work. We have a large group ranging in age from 4 to 76. How to you handle these items? Thanks for your tips...

PS I'd like to puchase some sort of carrying devise as a Christmas present in anticipation of our trip.

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

I personally use a thin purse where the strap goes diagonally across your chest and the purse part actually hangs near your hip. I like it b/c my arms are free from carrying a purse, it's close to my hip so it always feels attached to me, it's easy access to drop things in it and it's large enough to carry my camera and all the essentials. It's become known as my "disney purse."

As far as my husband goes, he just keeps his normal wallet in his pocket and that's it, nothing extra. It just holds his room key, credit cards, cash, etc. I guess I've gotten used to carrying all other essentials.

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

WHen we were at Universal last summer we had those lanyards with a wallet-type attachment that had a clear front to slip our room-card in. This was great, since at Universal the room-card gets you into the express line at all ths attractions. At WDW I don't think I'd need this. If you really don't need to carry a lot, I would say go with a fanny pack, and have every adult hold their own ticket. I always collect the kids tickets as soon as we get in, so they don't get lost (DH even surrenders his too). BUt, I usually end up carrying a back-pack that I share turns with DH carrying. In it goes the water bottles (if not being carried) rain ponchos etc.

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

I usually wind up with a backpack, and DH puts his things in the camera bag. One thing I learned this summer though, you need to put your tickets (especially the paper ones) in something waterproof. Our annual passes got wet a few times. Then I started putting my wallet in a ziploc!

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

My DW and I used the neck lanyard wallets and they worked great. We also had a diaper bag w/ our 2-yr old that held our camera and a folding stroller for extras (water, snacks, etc). For a large group, I would recommend the neck wallets. Also, I saw many groups w/ customized T-shirts in odd colors (Bright yellow?) to help identify and keep them together. Maybe another thought?

BTW- Wishuponastar--I think your new hairstyle is great and love your new pic!!

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

I actually bought a wallet from the Disney store here in the mall which was just big enough to carry some cash and cards and it had a clip hook on it so I could keep it in my shorts pocket and clip in onto my belt loop so it didn't fall out. It worked out perfectly!

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

Maybe something like THIS? It's big enough for tickets and such, but still small and slim. Easy to slip into just about any purse or pack. It's $19.00, but you could probably find something similar at TJMax, Walmart, etc.

oooh! that looks nice kippage.
I always just lug around my huge purse, I need my hairbrush, lipgloss, wallet, camera, mini fan, water bottle etc all day so I need a big bag.
For my room key though, or other card items I like to wear them on a lanyard, that works nicely.

When is your trip? 50anniversary?

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

My whole family wears fanny packs for sunglasses, snacks, cash, etc. I wear a laynard with a clear pocket thing for our passes and/or room keys. We usually have a small backpack loaded with sunscreen, water bottles, etc.

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

For a purse, I always drag my husband around and make him keep up with the tickets.

Actually, he keeps the tickets, but I like to have a spare room key in the diaper bag or small bag that I can keep in the stroller, that we I always have access to money. I think I might try one of those lanyards this time though. Have a wonderful grand gathering!!

I like either a waist pack or messenger-type bag with the built in wallet.

Wow, that sounds like it will be a lot of fun! Are you doing some of the grand gathering events, like the tours or meals?

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

Fanny Pack works best. I keep the front, thin pocked zipper only for the passes for easy access. Camera, snacks, lipstick, etc. in middle, large compartment, and money/charge cards in zipper closest to body. No one is getting in there for pick pocketing! It also easily moves from front to your side for easy access of buckling up on rides.

Re: Best type of wallet/purse?

I borrowed 2 fanny packs from a friend and never used them. I hauled around a backpack everyday. I had my camcorder, camera, sunglasses, wet wipes, cell phone, etc, but I have to say, it did put a lot of strain on my shoulders. I was very thankful that I work with 3 massage therapists, and I got an upper body massage today! Whatever you do, don't put your room key/park ticket in the same place as your cell phone. Hubby was holding the cards in his wallet for most of the trip, but when we split up, I put my and DS cards in the same pouch as my cell phone. We went to use them the next day and they wouldn't work. We had to have temp cards issued. I hated waiting those extra 3 minutes when I wanted to get in the park and have fun!
