Technical help, please.
As some of you know, we have been dealing with a computer saga in my home. The computer had been acting up for months and then crashed. The company sent out their repair guy twice and he put in new parts as of last week. Well, the original problems returned last weekend (I will NEVER buy from that company again - the computer is not even two years old!). :( I told hubby to please bring home a new CPU and he did. :D It is a HP and we are in love with it but I am having a problem figuring out one thing:
when I try to save pictures so I can use them for my Avatar I cannot seem to save them as the required "jpg" files. How can I do this? I have tried to bring down the box for other options when I save but there are none. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated!!! ![]()

Fifi,
Had a similar problem a long time ago, and used this program: http://www.jpegwizard.com/ It's used mainly to compress images, but IIRC it also would convert multiple file formats to .jpg. I can't remember, but it was either freeware or shareware. Of course, I'm sure a heavy duty program such as Photoshop would take care of it. And I just checked it, Microsoft Photo Editor will take care of that as well. I'm not a big graphics guy though, so someone else might have a better - or at least more up to date - solution. Bruce

WOW I'm psyched! Reading your post got me to thinking about changing my avatar. I had some trouble but I played around with it and finally go this pic in. It's of me diving in the Living Seas and my youngest son is trying to "Reach out and touch me"! :)

Fifi - try instead of the 'SAVE' function, use the 'SAVE AS' function. I'm hearing some versions of Windows are turning things into .bmp files, unsupported within the world of avatars... :D
Congrats on the new 'puter!

Thanks, everyone! I am still having a problem, even when I type the .jpg after the file name. Of course, this means that it is "moi" who has the problem :D; I'll keep on playing with it until I get it.

Hooray for me - I did it! I don't know what the heck I was doing before but today I had the option of saving with .jpg. Then I used HP's "PhotoImpression" and cut the size of the picture and resaved. Phew!
Thanks again for all your suggestions! :)
