Money in a Jar

We are really gearing up for our trip down here in Bellaland.

We went to The Disney Store today and then tonight we rolled our "Disney Fund" (which is two mayonasie jars full of change)...Since the day we got back from our June trip I have been forcing Dave and myself to never spend extra change, but just 'put it in the jar'...well tonight we rolled the jar and we have...
$94 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That basically pays for a REALLY nice LeCellier dinner and some other stuff!
I am so excited!

Good for you! We try to save most of our change during the year for our WDW trip, too. It's like free money since we didn't miss it.

Isn't it amazing how it adds up? We save our change for our son, and last I counted, he had about $50. I'm sure he's over $100 now!!

Re: Money in a Jar

We have a water cooler sized bottle that we keep change in and my hubby also throws in 1's and 5's - we always use it for Disney money - it's so fun to count it up!!!!!

Your spelling is horrific and you are rambling. It seems as though you have something else on your mind....... Waiting for an old freind perhaps? Waiting and wondering when a certain someone will be back from his trip to Disney?

Re: Money in a Jar

For our last trip I took the boys to Commerce to the Money Machine and their jar of coins was worth about $58. Not bad since it was mostly pennies. The guy after us had about 3 jars of mostly silver. You won't believe this, but his total was over $2,000. It's hard for me to save silver because I have to throw it away every day at those dumb toll booths on the Parkway! But I did open up a special savings account at my bank called "Keep the Change." Every time you use your debit card for a purchase, the extra change goes into the account. Say your total charge is $9.25. You would actually enter it in your checkbook as $10.00, and the other 75 cents goes into your special account. I've been doing it for 3 months and have about $100 already! I do use my debit card for almost everything!

Is an old friend gone?? I do not know this friend of which you speak.

I am rambling and spelling badly, because that's just what I do!!

Why, do you think I miss someone who has been gone for a week at WDW? Cuz, I totally don't. Not even a little.

Re: Money in a Jar

That's great Bella... $94 is nothing to sneeze at... (Ever wonder what the heck that saying even means? HA!)

You know those big bottles of popcorn that is a bank once you eat all the popcorn? I have an Arkansas Razorback one of those that I put all my extra change in. I NEVER spend my change. We cashed it in about 2 years ago and got almost $300 and it was only about 1/3 full. I'm gonna let it go much longer this time so I'll be rich...

Oh yea... Where is Bellaland?

That's really interesting!! I might have to check out my bank and see if they have that. I always hate having to balance my checkbook with amounts like 8.71, 10.13, etc.

Who am I kidding...I haven't balanced my checkbook in well over a year... That ^ is why I quit balancing it!

Re: Money in a Jar

I know, it's easier to round out the numbers. Mine hasn't been balanced in a long time either, but the amount off is in my favor!
