I was there in September two years ago. They COVERED our windshield, but they were magically not on the Disney buses, or at the parks. I just remember them on the drive down- everywhere... maybe they don't like magic!

No, they're black bugs (you can very much "see-um") and they fly around...well..."attached"

together (hence the name "love-bugs").

They can do major damage to the paint job on cars if they aren't washed off quickly and regularly.

They just fly around, not really bothering anyone. But they're in masses. I used to love them during softball practice growing up - great boredom reliever.

But they're extremely acidic. So when they get on your car, you need to wash them off as soon as possible, or they'll eat up the paint job as they decompose.
