worst experience or moment

i know there's a thread somewhere here about your worst moment or experience in WDW but i can't find it. so, i thought i'd start this one in case the other one turns up.

Re: worst experience or moment

The worse experience ever happened the year I went on Easter Sunday. I totally lost my cool fter days of fighting crowds, getting shoved and pushed, and dealing with ignorance. I blew my stack right on main street near the train station when some lady moved my DD's coach with her in it and took our parade spot that we waited hours for. I lost it...totally lost it. I yelled things that I should have never yelled in WDW or in front of children... I am totally humiliated now by the way I acted and how angry I got, but at the time I honestly couldn't control it. That was by far the worse thing that ever happened to me at WDW. I made a complete idiot of myself. That women who swore she "no speak english" when I asked her to move the first time, amazingly understood me when I got really ticked. A cast memeber and two other guests came over to me thinking it was going to turn into a brawl...lol OM thank goodness my DD doesn't remember it. I had another guest behind me saying "you go girl" lol What a disaster. I almost never went back to WDW again after that week. Thank goodness I just found a better time to go there. Me + extreme crowds = disaster...lol

My worse moment - happened last year - we weren't really in a park - we were in the car on the night we arrived at WDW. And it was just a case of being completely over-tired. Although, it was dh's FAULT! He has this thing when we travel - I keep all the documents, tickets, etc, because he's not reliable and he'll stride through airports, etc., with me running along behind, all the while demanding passports, etc. (he actually snaps his fingers at me sometimes. ) I get ticked but I usually keep it to myself. So - it's past midnight - we haven't eaten since about noon, we all feel nauseous. We check in at OKW. Nothing is open to get a bite to eat, and we really NEED food, so we decide to drive thru McDonalds at the Crossroads. We get in the car, and he says to me, where's the parking pass. Me: You didn't give it to me. Him: Yes I did. We need it. (snap, snap). Well - I SNAPPED. I screamed at him I didn't have it. I was like a madwoman sorting through all my stuff, all the papers. I was almost incoherent. He stops at the lobby of OKW - runs in and finds the parking pass he left on the counter. I usually don't get mad like that but it was just a combo of everything. Not such a happy drive to McDonalds - but at least he apologized. I still don't like thinking of that...

Re: worst experience or moment

Worst for me was this past April father and daughter trip. I started feeling sick after doing EPCOT for 12hrs. Teeth started hurting,. First go to clinic by entrance to disney (by Goodings) 6 hr wait I leave. Next morning pain worse I go to local ER where they find my heart having reouble. Transfer me by ambulance to Orlando Medical Center where they do an emergency stent placement to unclog the three arteries that feed the outside of the heart.
Scariest thing is worrying what to do with 7yr old daughter. (only in Orlando) the hospital gives my daughter a private nurse to stay with her, feed her, give her gifts at gift shop, and bring her to my room right after surgery!!!! (Wife flew down that night)

After released the next morning and told to walk around DISNEY all I want!!!!

Re: worst experience or moment

We were standing near a railing, near the circle looking at the castle and the entrance to Tomorrowland. My DD is a voice I never heard before says something like Mom, I need help. I look at her and she had pushed her knee through 2 bars of the railing and could not pull it back through! I panic inside but do not show it! In a calm voice I tell my friends to find a CM. I try to stretch the bars apart, like I am Hercules or something! A man comes over and tries to help me with the bars, we are not strong enough. I ask him to go get some oil or something slippery from the popcorn vendor but she would not give us any. Another family stops to help and hears me trying to find something slippery. THey offer tanning lotion and we put that on her leg, everyone grabs the bars and tries to move them. Her knee slips out!!! YEAH!!! And then the CM arrives and asks if we need to go to the first aid. We didn't need to, thankfully!!!

Re: worst experience or moment

another thing about this to include is times when a ride got stuck or something like that happened while at WDW. you can include that in your moments or experiences as well to lighten the mood.

That did happen once at a little amusement park here in AZ, I know it wasn't Disney, but I was stuck at the top of the ferris wheel for hours! It's funny now, but at the time, not so much.

Thankfully I don't think I've ever had a rotten moment at WDW, none that I can recall anyways.

When I think of one I'll be sure to let you know. X)

Re: worst experience or moment

Well mine was at Disneyland. It was when i was 6 and my WHOLE family was there. It was me my 2 brothers and my patents. We were on POTC and we got stuck right where they start... yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me. Don't get me wrong i LOVE that song but we were stuck there for a good half hour or even and hour. CMs kept coming by asking if we needed something they could bring because they didn't want to have to try and get us all off the boats. All in all it was fine but annoying as heck!

Re: worst experience or moment

I vaguely recal being annoyed last August at the CM who operates the boat accross the laggin in Epcot. We were all tired and hot and waited for the boat to take us back closer to the entrance to the park. Now, as I recall, there was a CM on the landing waiting as well (to assist guests I'm thinking). we waited there in the heat for about 10-15minutes, and he saw us there and never said anything. The boat finally comes and he tells us the boats are closed for the evening. He could have told us that 15 minutes earlier.

I only vaguely recall it because it is such a great place, the good far outweighed the bad!

Re: worst experience or moment

Our worst experience was last Christmas Day in the MK. Our entire trip was perfect until then. The power went out, the crowds were unbearable, and our camera was stolen while we were eating lunch and the power was out. We waited in line for an hour and a half to report the theft, but we were told there was nothing that could be done and to not expect to see the camera again. It still bothers me that people can be so ugly--especially on Christmas. We are planning to go back to Disney for Christmas, but we will never spend Christmas Day in the Magic Kingdom again. This year we are changing things up and will be at Universal on Christmas Day, but we will spend a week at Disney first when the crowds are a little lighter.

Re: worst experience or moment

I really can't say I've had a bad experience at WDW. People cut in front of me two years ago while waiting for the parade that my DD was in with her high school band. It was a family from India but they were shorter than I am and I put DS beside their children and all was good. The way I see it, 10 years from now, who cares. I can honestly say that I have only had great experiences at WDW. Hurry up June!!!
