Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

Has anyone read or seen these two books? I really enjoyed the Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom but I did kinda feel like it was a lot of information I already knew. I wonder if the EPCOT one is as/more insightful? How about the Disneyland one? These just might be on my birthday wish list!

"The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot at Walt Disney World"
Book Description
Second in this line of pocket-size paperbacks, this one answers the question: "What would it be like to walk through Epcot with an Imagineer by your side?" The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot provides that experience: pointing out details and telling stories, back stories, and Imagineering insights never before heard, condensed into a portable, easily referenced park guide. These user-friendly, beautifully illustrated guides are innovative and entertaining books that will enrich the guests’ time at the happiest places on earth.

"101 Things You Never Knew About Disneyland: An Unauthorized Look At The Little Touches And Inside Jokes"
Book Description
You have probably heard a few "interesting facts" about Disneyland over the years. Perhaps you've heard that Walt Disney kept an apartment on Main Street? Or that there is a secret, members-only club in New Orleans Square? It's all true... but these are only two of the interesting facts pointed out in "101 Things You Never Knew About Disneyland." Many of the stories here deal with more obscure, yet equally interesting, histories of Disneyland. In fact, the majority of the material comes straight from interviews with the Imagineers who helped to build, maintain, and revitalize Disneyland. The book pays special attention to the inside jokes and hidden references to Disneyland’s past.

Gee, they both sound interesting, but you're right Wish: we may already know a lot of that "inside information" already.

We ARE smarter than the average Disney guests, right?

Re: Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

I haven't read either of them, but would like to. Can you ever go wrong with the disney park book? I always know at least half the information in the guides I get...still I love to read anything and everything about the disney parks.

I loved the FG to MK, but have only heard about the Epcot edition. I've been meaning to get myself to a bookstore to pick it up.

Well, even though I probably know most of the info on Disneyland, I ended up going on ebay and looking for the second book.

Found it.

Bought it.

Just for your info, The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot at Walt Disney World is on ebay as well, but probably cheaper at www.abebooks.com if you aren't worried about buying a "used" book..

Re: Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

I just got the EPCOT and MK field guide but I haven't had a chance to look through them thoroughly. From what I have seen it is a mix of stuff I already knew and stuff I really didn't, so it was worth the price!

Re: Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

I have both of them. The imagineering one was a good mix of stuff that I knew and didn't know. The 101 things about DL I thought was a waste of money. I don't recall reading anything in it that I didn't know and not alot of detail to it.

Thanks everyone! They have both on Amazon used for less than $10, so I might just put them on my wish list for $20 you can't really go wrong!

After the first few trips, we kinda stopped reading books! But we loved the Unofficial Guide, and also WDW for Adults....

Re: Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

I love Disney travel books! Although I haven't read those two, I say go for it! You can never have too many books!

On that subject, I highly recommend Mouse Tales and More Mouse Tales by David Koenig. It talks about a lot of behind the scenes stuff (good and bad) at Disneyland. They are two of my favorite books that I have read again and again and again! They were actually my first two books that taught me most of what I know, like about the Matterhorn basketball court and all that stuff!

Re: Anyone read/seen these 2 books?

I have read The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot at Walt Disney World, and for someone like me who doesn't know much about Disney World it is very good, I read it within a few hours.

Hopefully they will do the MGM and the Animal Kingdom ones too!!

I have the MK one, and I kinda felt the same way, like it was a bunch of stuff I already knew. But, there was some stuff in there that I didn't know too. All in all, I enjoyed the book and will probably get the Epcot one too...
