This is a thought that I've been having for quite a while. I love the cartoon series "House of Mouse". I think it's really funny. My thought has been to turn Playhouse Disney back to a resteraunt (it was the Soundstage in WDW and being built in the Soap Opera Bistro in DCA) and making them the House of Mouse. The idea is like this:

The story is that Mickey decided that it wasn't fair that only Toons would get a house of mouse, so he expanded so that humans could have somewhat of the same experence. The rooms would be a close as possable mock up of the toon House of Mouse. This includes purple high backed (topped with mouse ears of course) chairs with oblong purple and blue tables, a giant screen to show classic and classic inspired (fab 5, Ludwig Von Drake, the like) Disney cartoons (just like in the show) and a live MC being the host. Other extras could be added (like an Audio-animatronic version of the microphone announcer).

The food would most likely be kid/adult friendly. Nothing too fancy. And the main draw would be the charactors. They could be very diverse, like they were at the Soundstage. Remember, the House of Mouse is where all the toons hang out, so everyone from Meeko to Jafar could be there.

My thought is that MGM and DCA is really missing some sit down eating possablilties. In MGM, another possablility would be the Sci-Fi resteraunt. I just remember fondly of the Soundstage and was very dissapointed of the replacement.

As a disclamer: This is NOT a rumor:!: Everything here comes from my own mind. To the best of my knowledge, nothing like this is on the drawing board for the short or long term future. I just made it up. I'm just posting it so I can have the collective of the internet help me with more suggestions. Thank you for your time

You leave Playhouse Disney alone! I don't know what my DD would if Playhouse Disney was gone. I would say good-bye to the Sci-Fi. Even thought it's fun, we got sick there 2 times. I think the restaurant idea is great. It would be a lot of fun. You never know it could happen.:)

I love that idea--but leave the sci-fi alone!!! That is one of our very favorites! Ok, if we leave playhouse disney and sci-fi alone, where else could it go?? Ideas?

Great idea! I love House of Mouse too. Wish there were more shows like that on my 3 Disney channels! How about putting it in MGM where that Drew Carey sound thing was. I don't think there's anything there now. At least there wasn't in October when we were there last.

How about building a new building topped by the Sorcer Mickey hat in front of the Great Movie Ride. I wondered if they were going to leave them there after the 100 years celebration was over. They block a good view. Just move them over the the side and build the House of Mouse resturaunt off of them.:)

Was? It's still there. We went to it in Jaunary/early Feb 2003. I personally like sounds dangerous. It's kinda funny.

So I have a plea to leave Playhouse Disney alone and a plea to leave Sci-Fi alone.... oh what's a person to do...;) :) I personally like the idea of it being in the Animation courtyard. It fits there. My other thought that I tossed around was putting it in Little Mermaid.

Topping a building with the Sorceror Mickey hat (or as I call it "The hat of evil") would be difficult because that hat is around 100 feet tall. On top of a building, it would eather be really close to over the 200 foot airplane blinking light deal (if the building is over 200 feet tall, you have put a blinking strobe light on top to warn airplanes. The only structure I can think of that has one is the wand on top of Spaceship Earth), and such possably being taller than Tower of Terror. If split appart, as in other sides of the park, then it would possably work, but I don't know where it would fit around the New York Street area.

I know this will make someone irritated, but why not where the brown derby is? It is next to the animation courtyard, and is already an eating establishment.

Sunset Market was orginally supposed to be a sit down resteraunt, so it's an idea. Brown Derby is too popular to be replaced. It's an idea
