YAY! My Disneyland prints finally came in!!

As many of you may or may not know I am a HUGE fan of the California artist SHAG (Josh Agle). When he first starting doing a lot of the art for Disneyland's 50th I was SO excited; two of my favorite things, SHAG & Disneyland!!!

On my recent trip I bought all of his Disneyland prints and had them framed! They JUST came back and I LOVE them, they look awesome!!!

I am SOOO excited! Now I need to figure out a color to paint the wall they are going on, any suggestions? (no, not white, smartypants )

Wish those look amazing. I really mean it. Those are so cool, what is better than vintage DL?

Paint the walls white, my mom always says, white goes with everything.

Thank you!

The wall is already white. I can't stand the white and there HAS to be a common color for the wall that would make them pop. They kinda just get lost in white.

I so want to be you Jessica! Your house must be filled with great Disney prints (after these, the Tink prints, etc.). Lucky!

I really can't think of any color wall other than white. I initially thought green would be good cause there is green in each print, but then I realized the frames on two of them were green. Same thing with orange. But you don't want white, so black?

I love SHAG too (I think I told you that) and I just love all the great DLR stuff like the scrapbooking stuff and license plate frames that they have right now. I could spend a fortune and it still wouldn't be enough! What size are the prints?

edit: Looking again, yellow might work...it is the best color that matches pink, green and orange.

Awww, thank you Joy! Once everything in my tiny little house becomes displayed presentably you are MORE than welcome to come visit the shore. This will NOT be a traveling exhibit. haha!

If you have any of the Shag books Joy, I think in one of them in the back where they printed an interview with him they were talking about the color palettes and how they always seem similar in EVERY collection... going back to Night of the Tiki, to Dangerous Women, etc... AND he DID mention that "certain green" that he always uses as a basis in nearly ALL of his paintings. So, you may not have been far off with the green idea. Finding that perfectly right green is going to be super hard. Maybe I should write him and ask if he has any suggestions!

OMG, I love them!!! Can I ask which store you found them in? Are the frames wood?

Hard to tell from the photo, but what about one of the orange shades? maybe the color of the arch the train is going over. Or maybe one two of the greens--the wall being a lighter color, then a square of a darker green that you hang the photos on--sort of a fame for the frames (like the greens in the giraffe).

Oh, I love them so much! I had seen them on-line long before our DL trip so I saved up for them. Surprisingly they were only $18 per print BUT I DID NOT expect how expensive framing would be!!! Of course, they are odd sized where you can't just buy an "over the counter frame". Luckily I caught Michael's 50% off custom framing sale!

Those are georgeous! You have great taste. I don't know too many people who would try this (including me), but they would great with a black background.

This is the one thing I hate about buying Disney prints...the framing absolutely rips your wallet in half!

I didn't realize those prints are odd-sized. What do you want to bet that's for a reason?

Glad you caught the sale at Michael's! I can't imagine doing the framing through Disney. They're always selling big prints for $25.00 and then the frame is like $495.00!!!!

the "frame for a frame" in paint is a great idea, that's actually what my Dad suggested. This is a close-up of the orange shaded ones below.

Oh, and I chose metallic frames b/c the room is very poppy and colorful. All of the wood ones seemed too dull for me & the golden ones were just not working.

Sorry this one is a cell cam picture, so its not as good but it's more of a burnt orange.

Re: YAY! My Disneyland prints finally came in!!

I say paint the wall red. Or orange, like a Caribbean orange. Since you say they're burnt orange, a brighter orange might do the trick.

You strike me as someone who has the guts to do that, me however no. I stick to the neutrals.

Yeah, when I bought the prints from the gallery above PoTC I inquired about THEIR framing services.. haha.. they wanted $78. PER PRINT for one of the BASIC frames!!! When I got home and went to Michael's they wanted $66 for the metallics of this size, so I paid $33 per print with the 50% off. Still expensive in my opinion, but what can I do, at least I got a deal!

Oh, oh. Or yellow, maybe a nice lemon, or a pale yellow.

Yeah that's still pretty spendy, but for odd-sized prints I don't think you could expect to do much better!

$78 per print...that's INSANITY! How big are those things anyway? For that price they oughta be huge!
