Disney Day 1 Credit Card question

OK, so I signed up for the Disney Day one Credit Card form Bank One a while ago as many of us have...Just yesterday I got mail from what says is Bank One. They are requesting
1. proof of address with a gas, water or elect. bill
2. a photocopy of my social security card
AND 3. a phone bill for proof of my phone number!!
Now, I know we have excellent credit, and we get credit card invites daily from numerous banks. So I'm wondering what is up, is this letter of requests legit? I've never heard of such a thing. It was easier getting a mortgage!
Has anyone else gotten this letter?
I am not willing to give them the info they request.
Your thoughts or similar stories are appreciated.

I got no such request, and received my card early this week. If I were you, I'd call the toll-free number listed in some other cc threads here, and ask if this is a legitimate request.:heart :)

That phone # is 888-338-7586. Listen to all the prompts, and, eventually, a customer service rep will come on the phone. Good luck.:heart :)

Reiko, I haven't heard of anyone having to go through that. I certainly didn't. What especially makes me nervous is the copy of your SS card. NO ONE asks for that anymore unless you're getting a new job, and then not always. Let us know what happens.

Reiko,
this definetly sounds shady! What address are they requesting the items be sent to? I would contact bank One right away and inquire about this. This definetly smacks of a credit/id theft scam. The number for cardmember services is 800-300-8575. They should be able to answer any questions. Good luck!

Reiko

I did get a call from them prior to getting the card. They needed to verify that I had applied, and I just had to verify some information that I had submitted with the application. My guess is that this is the same type of thing. The only number I have for them is 1-800-300-8575, which is the number you call if you need information about your account, though I don't know if it is for cardholders only or for everyone. I am sure they can help you though.

I have been calling 888-338-2586 everyday for 2 weeks now. It is an automated line that will allow you to speak to a representative after it tells you the status on your account. It is for card holders and applicants.

We are not getting the Disnet Visa Card for one main reason, it from Bank One. We use to have our Visa thru Bank One but had so many problems with them that we cancelled with them. There are a couple of others that I won't go thru also. Wells Fargo and Bank Of America. We had frequent flier miles with them and once we tried to use them we found that since we paid the balance every month they weren't getting anything from us so they put so many restrictions on us that we never got a chance to use hardly any of the miles. Plus they are a little shady in thier practices lately.

So I'll just pass on this one. By the way they never asked for our ssn or other items they are asking you. They just wanted a telephone number of my work and the area of how much I made.
